We have a nine-game NBA DFS slate to break down for tonight, as there is value coming from all sorts of places here. The Brooklyn Nets will be a priority, as they are without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. There are also many injuries going around on the Philadelphia 76ers, so we like getting to them as well. One matchup we are all over tonight is the Houston Rockets against the San Antonio Spurs, as they are two of the fastest-paced teams in the NBA.
Here’s Two Core Plays For DFS Basketball 1/25 /22 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | K. Porter Jr. | $6,300
Shooting Guard | |||
Small Forward | P. Mills | $4,900
Power Forward | |||
Center | |||
Guard | |||
Forward | |||
Utility |
We are going to a balanced lineup for tonight, as a few of our priorities are in the $6,000-$7,000 range. Kevin Porter Jr. is one of those guys, as he is one of our favorite plays tonight at only $6,300. Porter has been very productive lately, scoring 38.8 FPTS in the last one and averaging 37.6 FPTS over the past ten days. The Rockets have a fantastic matchup against the Spurs tonight, so we are betting on another nice night out of Porter.
We know that Kyrie Irving will not be available for the Nets tonight due to it being a home game. Patty Mills is going to be one of our absolute priorities tonight as a result. Mills was already cheap at $4,900 as he consistently shows upside closer to 30 FPTS. With Irving out, we expect Mills to play a ton of minutes and carry some extra usage. We know he has massive upside as a top scorer for this team when Irving and Durant are both out, so he is a no-brainer at $4,900.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 1/25/22 (using DraftKings Values)
It is not easy finding a fade at the top end tonight, as a lot of the stars are coming in at great price tags. However, Bradley Beal is an easy pass here for us, as he should not be priced as high as $9,000. Beal is averaging 41 FPTS on the game this season, and only 39.1 FPTS over the past ten days. He is priced for his upside here, and we have far better places to put our salary.
Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• A priority from Philadelphia who must do a lot here.
• A cheap wing who has been playing ridiculous minutes.
• One Spurs forward who we love getting to with this matchup.
• Our favorite superstar to spend up for.
Point Guard
Tyrese Maxey – ($6,400 DK) The Sixers are missing a few key guards here in Seth Curry and Shake Milton. Maxey has had the ball in his hands a lot over the past few games, and he has been playing over 40 minutes a night. He has scored 32 and 35 FPTS respectively in the past two games, without showing a strong shooting night. He has massive upside here if he can take over offensively, and his floor is great with all the minutes he is playing.
Shooting Guard
Nickeil Alexander-Walker – ($3,700 DK) Brandon Ingram was sidelined in the last game, and he is questionable for tonight. If Ingram can play, we are going to be looking elsewhere for value here. However, if Ingram ends up out again, we have a few priorities from the Pelicans. NAW played 34 minutes without him last time, as he scored 30.25 FPTS on only 30 percent shooting. He has a ton of upside if his role is going to stay the same, and he is very cheap at $3,700.
Furkan Korkmaz– ($4,500 DK) With both Milton and Curry sidelined for the sixers tonight, we know there are going to be plenty of minutes available for Korkmaz. He played 37 minutes in the last game and 39 minutes in the game before that. He scored 29 FPTS last time out, and we expect that kind of production from him with so many guys out.
Keldon Johnson – ($5,000 DK) There is a lot to like from the San Antonio Spurs tonight, as they are priced for a fantastic matchup against the Houston Rockets. He consistently plays over 30 minutes a game, and he is averaging 27.2 FPTS on the season. He is coming in at a great price here, as any boost from the Rockets matchup will make him a fantastic value.
Joel Embiid – ($11,300 DK) Embiid was one of our core plays for the last Sixers game, as we expected him to take on massive usage with a few guys out on his team. Embiid ended up taking a mind-boggling 32 attempts from the field, on route to going for 65.5 FPTS. He has another easy matchup against the Pelicans tonight, so we are betting on another productive game from him.
General strategy
There are a lot of directions to go with our lineups once again tonight. We are looking at playing a balanced lineup around Embiid, so we can get to midrange options like Maxey, Porter, and Jakob Poeltl. We are eager to hear if Ingram is going to play tonight, as we really like NAW, Josh Hart, and Devonte Graham if he ends up out. The other key questionable tag we are watching is De’Aaron Fox. Fox was out last time, so we saw a few of the Kings take on a bigger role. Tyrese Haliburton, Terence Davis, and Harrison Barnes are priorities if Fox sits. Good luck tonight and keep an eye on any news that might break.
