We are falling into a bit of a routine here, with massive overwhelming DFS slates one night, and smaller more concentrated slates the next. After eleven games last night we only have three games to break down tonight. There is a ton of value on the bottom end here, while our stud plays are more mediocre. This entire slate is dependent on some huge news we are waiting on from the Pacers, with Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert both questionable. If they end up out again, we will be all in on Indiana tonight.

The top end of tonight’s slate is a lot less enticing than the bottom, as most of our value is under $5,000 here. Garland stands out compared to some of our other spend-up options in terms of upside, as he went for over 50 FPTS in four of his last five games. He is the offensive engine for this Cavs team, and they rely on him for everything on that end. He is coming in at a solid $9,000 price tag here, with an easy matchup against the Thunder.
Richaun Holmes missed a few weeks in the league’s health and safety protocols and returned two games back. He only played 15 minutes in his return, but we saw him play 28 minutes last game. We expect him to play over 30 minutes tonight if things stay close, and we know he is typically around $6,000 when healthy. He is way too cheap tonight, so he is a huge priority for us.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 1/22/22 (using DraftKings Values)
It’s always hard to fade anyone when we only have a few games, as a big game could make any stud a winning play. However, we always have overpriced guys that we would only go to for Mass Multi entry. Khris Middleton is one of those guys for us tonight, as he is just too expensive at $8,700. He is only averaging 37.2 FPTS on the season, so this price resembles a good game from him. He has a low floor, and his upside is less exciting when you are overpaying.
Here Is What Your Get If You Subscribe For $15 Per Month or $99 For The Year…
• A star guard who has been great recently.
• A few budget options who we expect to see a lot of floor time.
• A starting center who is way too cheap.
• Our priorities with the news that Giannis Antetokounmpo is doubtful.
Point Guard
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – ($8,600 DK) SGA has been great lately, averaging 47.6 FPTS over the past ten days. He has had some huge games, including one 65 FPT performance last week. Gilgeous-Alexander stands out compared to a lot of the other guys we can spend up for tonight, so we are going to be using him a lot in this one.
Shooting Guard
Aaron Wiggins – ($3,700 DK) We went to Wiggins last time at $3,500, and he was only mediocre with 17.5 FPTS. However, he played 26.4 minutes and shot 25 percent from the field. With a slightly better shooting game and some more peripheral stats, Wiggins can smash value here. He has been starting for the Thunder and is too cheap under $4,000 until that changes.
Chris Duarte – ($5,200 DK) Duarte is one of the many Pacers guys who are dependent on what happens with LeVert and Brogdon. If both stud guards are out again Duarte is an absolute lock. He shot the ball 16 times in 39 minutes with them both out last game, as he went for 47.25 FPTS. He is way too cheap for the massive role he must play, and he will be a priority if even one of them is sidelined.
Jae Crowder – ($4,500 DK) The Power Forward position is easily the weakest on tonight’s slate, so our standards are lower here. Crowder is a guy who we go to often on smaller slates, as he is always cheap for the minutes he plays. He has been consistently playing over 30 minutes in close games, and he has shown some solid upside lately. We are never expecting a monster performance out of Crowder, but he is a solid piece to fill in the lineup.
Goga Bitadze – ($4,700 DK) Regardless of what happens with the Pacers guards tonight, we know both Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner will be sidelined. There is a ton of minutes going around in Indiana’s frontcourt, and we know Bitadze is first in line. He played 31.2 minutes last game and went for 33.3 FPTS. We expect a similar opportunity tonight, so he is way too cheap at $4,700.
General strategy
The news JUST broke that Giannis Antetokounmpo is doubtful tonight, so that changes our priorities around a bit. If Brogdon and LeVert play Milwaukee will become our clear source of value tonight. While if the Indiana guys sit we will be getting a healthy mix of Pacers and Bucks’ In terms of specific priorities with the Antetokounmpo news, Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis are both massive priorities. We can also get to Jordan Nwora for salary savings. Furthermore, Middleton is no longer a fade for us, but he is less of a priority compared to the other Bucks we just mentioned.
