NHL DFS Picks For January 22, 2022

Timo Meier
NEW YORK, NY - DECEMBER 03: San Jose Sharks Left Wing Timo Meier (28) skates with the puck during the first period of the National Hockey League game between the San Jose Sharks and the New York Rangers on December 3, 2021 at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. The Tampa Bay Lightning met their match against John Gibson and the Anaheim Ducks last night. It is not often they get shut out. They will be playing again today against San Jose as their road trip continues. This offers you, dear reader, an excellent opportunity. They will be icing their backup goaltender Brian Elliott. With the way the Sharks have been scoring, you should be all over this.

Here’s a toothy lineup For DFS Hockey 1/22/22 (using DraftKings Values)

Far be it from us to actually believe James Reimer could get San Jose a shutout, but he is the perfect piece for us to build our roster on. He has been a blessing for a team whose goalies have struggled mightily in recent years. We will have a slightly more expensive guy who faces a weaker team but if you are just trying us out, we still like Reimertron.

Timo Meier is lighting the lamp like a madman. That five goal game was glorious and you could tell that his team was trying to get him the double hat trick. He is showing no signs of slowing down and is actually a smidgeon cheaper than what we were expecting.

Erik Karlsson is back on the menu boys. EK65 and his silky flow seems to be on an every other game burst and today is an on day. We are very interested to see how he plays against one of the top teams in the league and to see if he can shut down the game’s top scorers.

Juuse Saros got a day off to let David Rittich ply his trade and Rittich did not fare that well. He will not be getting another start for a bit and Saros came back with a vengeance after dropping three straight. As much as people are hailing Detroit for their improved season they are still just a .500 team and we do not think they will be that difficult for the Preds to sweep under the rug.

We did briefly consider Karel Vejmella in net but the Rangers offense will probably prove to be too much. For that we are upgrading Karlsson to Adam Fox. He comes in at an incredibly reasonable price and plenty of upside.

You may as well toss Mika Zibenejad into your top center position while you are at it. We look forward to when he gets to play a full season and earns the recognition he deserves.

We honestly did not even realize that the Senators had moved Tim Stutzle to center. That’s a big jump for such a young player but he has been crushing it. We also like Ryan Johansen here. He may be on the second line and being paid like a first liner, but his real life price does not matter in fantasy.

Sam Girard and Brady Skjei are both seeing extra ice time as players ahead of them on the depth chart have been dealing with injury. They both play on amazing teams and can easily help your bottom line.

Dominik Kubalik is finally back on his horse. Last year’s dark horse for Calder cooled off in his sophomore season and is in a good groove right now. Andrew Mangiapane fell back to earth as predicted and then the Calgary Flames hit a bit of a skid. He is seeing ice time increase and is poised for a breakout game.

Seth Jarvis is now on your radar. For a stupidly low price you get a guy on Sebastian Aho’s wing. That should give you the last bit of flexibility to make your dream team.
