Today’s Showdown is between the Detroit Red Wings and the Anaheim Ducks. Both teams lost yesterday and we were ready to throw the Red Wings under the bus first but the Ducks somehow managed to maybe have a worse game. The Red Wings gave up 27 shots in the first period yet the Ducks only managed 14 shots on net in the entire game. The Ducks did manage to at least score a goal and not get shut out so it is kind of a race to the bottom. We are not taking either netminder today as it is probably going to be Thomas Greiss, a 35-year-old backup who sports a losing record, up against Lukas Dostal who may make his NHL debut tonight. We might get a high-scoring one!
Here’s a mixed lineup For DFS Hockey 1/9/21 (using DraftKings Values)
We honestly did not even realize that Dylan Larkin was a point-per-game player this season. We apologize to Mr. Larkin as he is someone we have been hyping for the past few years as Detroit has begun its rebuild. We are excited to see him have a long career helping bring the Yzerman plan to fruition.
Trevor Zegras is a wunderkind. We are of the mind that he is exactly what the league needs to bring in new fans and usher in an era of players who actually have personalities. That said, tossing the stick into the crowd after the game-winning goal earlier this year is not something that needs to happen very often. Flying lumber is dangerous for said new fans.

Tyler Bertuzzi is still not allowed to play in Canada due to his refusal to get the vaccine but luckily Anaheim is about as far as you can get from our northern border. He has been electric this year scoring goals and making amazing passes that result in assists.
Troy Terry continues his roll with another assist on the one goal the Ducks scored yesterday. His price continues to not make any sense for someone who is playing as prolific as he is. It could be a function of playing for Anaheim but they are still doing very well in the standings. It does not matter that is just straight value for you.
Our next two guys for you are both recent first-round picks that are finally getting to play out their dream of being in the NHL. Michael Rasmussen and Jacob Perrault are not even being buried on the third or fourth line. Rasmussen is on the second line in Detroit and Perrault is up on the top line in Anaheim playing with Zegras. What an assignment.
