With only three games on tonight’s NBA DFS slate, we do not have quite as many moving parts here as we are used to. We are going to be all over the Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies tonight, as Ja Morant, Richaun Holmes, and Harrison Barnes are either out or doubtful for this one. We have a lot of value on this slate from the Grizzles and Kings, so it won’t be hard to find some strong budget plays. On the other hand, the pay up options look very weak tonight, as we only have a few stars to choose from. Our core plays here will be one of our favorite values, as well as one of the stars that we like in this spot. We will also get to one guy we are happy to pass on here. In our premium content, we will get to all our priorities across the three games, as well as some strategy for Cash vs Tournaments.

With Morant sidelined for the Grizzlies, we are going to have a ton of value coming out of this team for DFS. Everyone here is cheap right now, and some guys are going to play a lot more minutes then usual. De’Anthony Melton is one of our favorite value options at $3,700 here, as he has a ton of upside without Morant and is so cheap. Melton is already cheap for his season average of 22.8 FPTS, and he could be in for some great usage without Morant. He should play well over 20 minutes in this spot, which is enough that we expect him to hit value here.
As we mentioned in the introduction the biggest challenge on this slate is finding top end options that hold up as well as our value. The superstars at the top don’t look great today, as our only options are guys who are way too expensive for there average production. We like getting to cheaper studs like Fred VanVleet at $8,100. VanVleet has been doing everything for the Raptors offense, and he has shown some nice games lately. He can easily go for 50 FPTS in a big night, and if OG Anunoby and Gary Trent sit it is likely we can see that here. We like VanVleet even if Trent and Anunoby play, but he will be an obvious play for us in this spot if they both sit.
Here’s a Fade DFS Basketball 11/28/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Russell Westbrook was fantastic with a 66 FPT triple double last time out, but he also played 51 minutes in a triple overtime game. Westbrook probably plays 15 minutes less today to be conservative, and he is not good enough a per minute producer with LeBron James on the floor to justify the $11,000 price. Westbrook had his first big game when James played
Now what do you get if you sign up now for $99?
• One Memphis guard who we expect to see a ton of floor time without Morant.
• A budget forward who should be in the starting lineup for this one.
• A stud big man who has a massive ceiling here.
• A starting guard who has some question marks on his team
Point Guard
Tyus Jones – PG ($4,800 DK) Jones has been priced up $1,600 in anticipation of the role he will be playing without Morant. He still looks good at $4,800, as we expect him to play a ton of minutes if this one stays close. We do not have too many options with only three games tonight, so Jones stands out above other plays in this price range.
Shooting Guard
Marcus Smart– ($5,700 DK) The shooting guard position does not look great tonight, and our priorities at this position are definitely going to be Melton and VanVleet. With that said, Smart looks solid here with the knowledge that Dennis Schroder will be sidelined for this one. Jaylen Brown is also questionable here. Smart is averaging 28.8 FPTS on the season and looks solid if Brown plays, while he is a priority if Brown sits.
Dillon Brooks – ($6,100 DK) Brooks has been dealing with some injury issues this season, but he has been healthy for a few games now and should be good for high minutes in a close contest. Brooks is cheap for where he was priced last year, and we know he should be the leader for this team with Morant sidelined. Brooks only played 19 minutes in a blowout last time, but we saw him get 15 shot attempts up. His usage should be fantastic in this spot, so we are happy betting on a big night here.
Chimezie Metu – ($3,900 DK) Metu started last time out with the Kings injuries, and we saw him score 18 FPTS without benefiting from the overtime. Metu did not play well last time out, hitting only one of his five attempts from the field. We expect Metu continues to start tonight, and there is a ton of room for him to be more productive and earn more floor time. He does not need to do much more then he did last night in this spot, and with only three games there is not much to be worried about with rostering Metu.
Jaren Jackson Jr.– ($6,500 DK) We love getting to JJJ in this spot with Morant off the floor. Jackson already has a massive ceiling as a DFS producer, and he is a high usage guy for Memphis. We saw him put up 15 field goal attempts in only 23 minutes when Morant got hurt last game, and he could have a huge scoring game if this stays close. If Jackson shows his upside tonight, he could be a must play in this spot.
General strategy
The big thing we are waiting on tonight is what happens with the Toronto Raptors. We like VanVleet and Pascal Siakam as spend up options regardless of who plays tonight for Toronto, but they look a lot better if Anunoby and Trent sit. If both Trent and Anunoby are out here, we can take a chance on a cheaper option like Svi Mykhailiuk in tournaments, and we will be getting to some Scottie Barnes. For Cash games tonight we are going to use a ton of value from the Kings and Grizzlies, as well as LeBron James or Anthony Davis at the top end for raw FPTS. For tournaments we like getting to Raptors value as a pivot if the guys are out, but we will be looking to play a lot of Desmond Bane and Terence Davis regardless. \
