It’s Black Friday, and that means we have hockey games all day. DraftKings has a six-game main slate on Friday which is the perfect sized slate to make some money with Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs along with Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning in action.
Here’s a foundational lineup For DFS Hockey 11/26/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Even with Nikita Kucherov out, the Lightning have continued to find a way to score. A big reason for that is the offensive break out of Anthony Cirelli. We have seen his shot volume really tick up which not only helps his DFS floor, but it really allows him to score more goals. You’re not going to pay a big price for him, so he is easy enough to use either as a single player or as part of a Tampa Bay stack.
Say what you want about Zach Werenski’s contract or his defensive play but few defensemen have the offensive upside of Werenski. He has points in five straight games, and goals in three of those games, not to mention his shot floor which is often no less than 3 shots, and we have seen him put up 10 shots in a game this season as well.
Goalies can be hard to predict, so with the Islanders COVID situation we should make sure we don’t miss the opportunity to take a goalie in Tristan Jarry, who will face them. Jarry can be inconsistent, but the Islanders are averaging less than one goal scored per game over the last two weeks which make this a wonderful opportunity to make use of him. He has won four straight games, and has been good for no less than 26 DK points in that four game stretch.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• This secret player is cheaper but has higher potential than our last two
• Beefcake defensemen
• Two storylines you will want to pay attention to for season long success
We have seen Jake Guentzel get hot over the last couple of weeks. He has points in seven straight games, and he has scored a goal in five of his last six games as well. He will face an Islanders team that has a patchwork defense right now with half of their regular starters out, so we could very well see another nice performance from Guentzel and the Penguins top line.
The floor of Timo Meier is one that is typically underrated. He has six points in his last five games, and he has hit the shot bonus on DraftKings in two of his last four games as well. As long as he continues to put that kind of shot volume on net he is going to be a threat to score, and with San Jose facing Toronto, he likely won’t see a lot of ownership either.
While defensemen aren’t the popular picks for your utility spots, you shouldn’t lose sight of someone like Cale Makar. It is easy to miss that in DK’s format that defenseman have the higher ceiling. Makar has been among the hottest DFS players since coming back from the injured list. He has five goals and 19 shots in his last three games and he isn’t even the most expensive defenseman on the slate.
The weekend is here and it is time to binge watch hockey. We will keep you updated via our Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) account. Take it easy.
