We are officially already halfway through the regular season, and here in week nine we have a few juicy matchups to start as a defense. Last week we hit big on Seattle, Buffalo, and San Fransisco, all giving us double-digit fantasy points. This week we lose the Jets to a Thursday night game, the Lions who are on bye, and the Bears to Monday night game, all of which we like to target. But there is always a path to choosing a defense every week, including one that is super cheap this week. Let’s see who we can use and start with the most obvious…
Buffalo Bills ($4,000 DK/$5,200 FD) Other than the Tennessee game, Buffalo has been a total lights-out defense. They travel to Jacksonville, who pretty much turnover the ball multiple times per game. The Bills are a bit pricy but a safe play this week, who have only allowed over 20 points twice this season, and have forced 18 total turnovers.

New Orleans Saints ($3,700 DK/$4,700 FD) Are coming off a huge win against Tom Brady and the defending champs. Even though they have a dilemma at quarterback after losing Jameis Winston for the year to an ACL injury, their defense has been stellar, and should be able to shut down the Falcons. Atlanta will struggle on offense, Calvin Ridley has left the team for personal reasons, leaving a gaping hole at wide receiver and leaving them with one only clear option of the rookie Kyle Pitts, who will be a marked man this Sunday.
Dallas Cowboys ($3,300 DK/$4,700 FD) Will be home for the Broncos, who have stammered to put points on the board under Teddy Bridgewater. Denver moves the ball at a snails pace, but will be forced to pick it up in Dallas, where the scoreboard can move up fast with all of the Cowboys’ firepower. Denver’s defense has been a fraud this year, as they allow 29 points per game, and have recently dealt linebacker Von Miller to the Rams this week.
Kansas City Chiefs ($2,300 DK/$3,300 FD) If we are paying down this week, pay down for the Chiefs this week. Aaron Rodgers has been placed on the COVID-19 list, and is not vaccinated, so the Packers will be starting Jordan Love, their first round pick of last year. Besides a few preseason games and a couple kneel downs in garbage time, this kid has no experience in the NFL. Although the Chiefs have been siphoning turnovers and points to the other teams lately, no Rodgers, no bueño for Green Bay on the road.
