Week 5 is here already, as the weather starts to get a little colder in some parts of the country this month, scoring points and throwing the ball may become difficult, especially a cold rain. But most importantly, injuries and matchups become a factor in deciding on the right defense to roster for the right price. Personally, I do not like to spend too much in that position, but sometimes, especially in our cash games it would be a safe play.
This week’s slate we have the option of paying up as well as paying down. The forecast in most outdoor stadium conditions look pretty fair so far, but there certain match ups as well as injuries in certain key positions on offense in which grab my attention. We should also look at some Sportsbook over/unders, low scoring games (40 point totals and lower).
Denver DST ($4,200 DK/$4,400 FD) have a beat up Ben Roethlisberger who has been playing through a pectoral injury while picking up an injury to his hip in week four. Not to mention the atrocious offensive line of Pittsburgh and poor running game, expect Big Ben to struggle at home against one of the most toughest defenses in the NFL. If you can afford to pay up this week Denver is in a great spot.

New England DST ($4,900 DK/$5,000 FD) If you can afford them, they are a must roster. The Pats are coming off a tough loss at home to Tom Brady and the Bucs. Look for Bill Belichick To do what he does best, punish rookie quarterbacks and taking away their best offensive player…which would be Brandin Cooks.
Arizona DST ($2,900 DK/$4,700 FD) Keep an eye on the San Francisco quarterback situation up until Sunday. If Jimmy Garoppolo sits out from his calf injury, rookie Trey Lance will make his first career start. Arizona’s defense has been pretty solid, so if Lance starts, J. J. Watt and company will put pressure on the rookie.
Raiders DST ($2,900 DK/$4,500 FD) Another contest with another rookie QB. Justin Fields on the road against a tough Vegas defense, sure why not? Fields has been sacked nine times and picked off once and has the worst QB rating in the league of 17.1.
Cleveland DST ($2,700 DK/$4,100) has become a sleeper top five defense in the league. The Myles Garret and Jadeveon Clowney experience have combined for eight sacks and 17 tackles so far this season. Corner Denzel Ward himself has 13 tackles and has been solid in the Cleveland secondary. Justin Herbert and the Chargers will have their work cut out for them on Sunday.
