We have eight games today with the first pitch at 1:05 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Paul Goldschmidt and the St. Louis Cardinals, taking on Willson Contreras and the Chicago Cubs in Chicago. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the St. Louis Cardinals (5.9), Philadelphia Phillies (5.8), and the Toronto Blue Jays (5.3).
The weather looks good across the board today otherwise, with less than a 20 percent chance of rain for the games today.

Freddy Peralta – P ($9,600) – After a few rough outings Peralta now has gone six innings in back-to-back starts and he has struck out nine batters in each of those starts as well. This is a good matchup for him going up against the Mets so I wouldn’t hesitate to pay up for him today.
Willson Contreras– C ($3,500) – Contreras now has multi-hit games in two of his last three starts, and he has a double in his last two games as well. He has been leading off for the Cubs recently which only adds to his value.
Marcus Semien– 2B ($4,900) – Semien comes into today with three straight games with two hits, and he has hit a home run in back-to-back games as well. With the Blue Jays facing a Twins pitcher today with an ERA close to seven, I would look for some of their big bats to have nice games today.
Nolan Arenado – 3B ($3,900) – Coming into today Arenado has hits in four of his last five games. The Cardinals have a high expected run total today, so getting Arenado below $4,000 could really pay off.
Nick Castellanos – OF ($5,700) In back-to-back games, Castellanos has had multiple hits, and he has also hit a home run in each of those games as well. With the Reds at home, I would feel pretty good about paying up for Castellanos today.

The Pitchers
John Means ($8,200 DK) There is a lot to like about Means at this price. He is more of a GPP play because of how often the Orioles win, but Means hasn’t given up more than two runs in any of his last five starts, and with him facing the Rangers today, it’s very possible he can keep their lineup at bay as well.
Lucas Giolito ($10,900 DK) – Giolito hasn’t given up more than three runs in any of his last seven starts. He strikes out more than 28 percent of the batters he faces, so he should be a safe bet for cash games today.
Alek Manoah ($8,800 DK) – In his last two starts, Manoah hasn’t given up more than two-run, and he has struck out more than eight batters on average as well. The Twins lineup he will face isn’t a pushover, but this is a good price for a pitcher with plenty of strikeout upside and capable of getting the win as well.
The Value Players
Paul Goldschmidt – 1B ($3,800) – At this price Goldschmidt could be very chalky today. He has eleven hits in his last five games with two doubles and four home runs. I’m not certain why his price is so low today, but I wouldn’t want to pass it up.
Didi Gregorius- SS ($3,800) – Didi has hit home runs in two of his last three games, and with the Phillies facing the weak pitching of the Pirates again today, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he hit another home run today.
Harrison Bader- OF ($2,800) – This is a fantastic price for a player who has nine hits in his last three games, has hit a double in each of those three games and has hit a home run on back-to-back days.
The Stacks
St. Louis Cardinals – There is a lot to like about the Cardinals today. They have players who are playing well and are underpriced with Arenado, Goldschmidt and Bader, which makes staking them easy.
Cincinnati Reds – When the Reds are at home they are always worth a look. I would look to a stack of Eugenio Suarez, and Kyle Farmer to go along with Castellanos.
Toronto Blue Jays – We talked about Semien, and I would look to add Teoscar Hernandez and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. when stacking the Blue Jays today.
