Week 1 is behind us and we are going to keep winning some cash again this week as we enter Week 2! So, let’s get started with the tight ends. We have some high-end picks, best values, and some buyer beware picks.
Darren Waller – ($7,600 DK, $7,000 FD) – With Travis Kelce playing on Sunday night, Darren Waller takes over the top spot in salaries in both DK and FD. Waller was a target hog last week leading all players with 19 targets! Derek Carr forced more passes than a drunk guy at a college party. This week, Waller is playing at Pittsburgh. The Steelers’ defense is a little more daunting than the Ravens’ and could cause some trouble for Waller. I still feel like Carr will continue to force the passes, he just may not be as successful as last week. I’m going to pass on Waller this week. He’s not worth paying up for.
George Kittle – BEWARE – ($6,400 DK, $6,700 FD) – George Kittle is the second most expensive tight end for Sunday’s slate, but I’m not so sure that I’m drinking the kool-aid for this week. Kittle only had 9.8 fantasy points last week in a high-scoring affair. This week, Kittle and the 49ers are in Philadelphia who did a pretty good job in shutting down Kyle Pitts. In fact, on the road, Kittle only averages 12.22 fantasy points per game with a 67 percent consistency rating. That’s good, but not #2 overall good. I’ll pass on Kittle.

Best Value – TE – James O’Shaughnessy ($2,700 DK, $4,400 FD) – Aye lad, sit down here and share a pint wit’ me as I tell you the story about ‘ole James O’Shaughnessy. He was a nobody in the fantasy world. But, then this fine young lad, Trevor Lawrence decide he should target him EIGHT times last Sunday in their game against Houston. He ended up 10th in fantasy points. And look, he’s only $2,700 “sheckles” on DraftKing, lad! He’s a fine bargain, if I may say so. Now, go spend your money on some studs at the receiver position.
Best Mid-Value – TE – Jared Cook – ($3,900 DK, $5,400 FD) – Just like O’Shaughnessy above, he’s a much better value on DraftKings than FanDuel, but Cook is coming off a solid game last week with 10.6 fantasy points. This week he’s getting the team in last place for giving up fantasy points to tight ends, the Dallas Cowboys. We all expect a shoot-out here and Cook’s historical numbers show when he plays at home versus a bad defense, he averages 13.60 fantasy points per game and has a 67 percent consistency rating. He is definitely worth grabbing for your lineup this week.
Overall, this week we are seeing some potentially huge values but a few people to stay away from that we normally give a full endorsement.
