Which Week 2 running backs can win you some cash and which could burn you this week? Find out here as we break down the winners and losers in DFS for Week 2!
Nick Chubb – ($7,800 DK, $8,400 FD) – Last week we rolled with Dalvin Cook as a top pick and he returned excellent value! This week the top pick is Nick Chubb, who is the fifth most expensive running back. He’s my top pick because he is playing at home versus a terrible Houston Texans run defense. Disregard how bad the Jaguars did against them, that’s just bad coaching. Chubb when playing at home averages 23.23 fantasy points per game and is 100 percent consistent. He’s certainly worth paying up for this week.
Alvin Kamara – BEWARE – ($8,800 DK, $8,800 FD) – Yes, those salaries are correct, they are exactly the same on DK and FD. I’m not terribly down on Kamara this week, but as the third-highest running back salary this week, I’m tempering my expectations. When Kamar has played on the road in the past versus a top run defense, he’s only been 50% consistent. I would certainly start him in my season-long leagues, but for DFS purposes this week, I’ll pay for someone else.

Best Value – RB – Nyheim Hines ($4,700 DK, $5,100 FD) – Do you see this price on a running back, who last week was ranked 19th overall in fantasy points and could earn even more this week? Hines was certainly a big part of last week’s game script due to the Colts getting behind early. This week, they welcome the high-powered Rams into town. See the similarities? Yep, me too! Grab Hines and use your money to upgrade elsewhere.
Best Mid-Value – RB – Miles Sanders ($6,400 DK, $6,300 FD) – Miles Sanders had a very nice start to his 2021 campaign and he gets an even better matchup this week against the league worst in giving up fantasy points to running backs. Sanders averages 16.16 fantasy points per game and should exceed 20 points this week. That’s a great value at these prices.
Christian McCaffrey – BEWARE – ($9,900 DK, $10,000 FD) – As usual, McCaffrey is the most expensive running back this week. However, I don’t think he’s worth paying up for this week. He’s playing against the New Orleans Saints, whose defense last week wreaked havoc on the Green Bay Packers offense and totally shut down Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones. I don’t put Sam Darnold on the same anything with Rodgers, so the Saints will only be focusing on McCaffrey this week. I’ll pass on this one.
Overall, this week we are seeing some potentially huge values but a few people to stay away from that we normally give a full endorsement.
