As we head into Darlington Race Week, we will have to look at drivers’ stats and history from this course and other similar courses as we build our lineup this week. This week we are going to focus on finding value by looking at previous top contenders at superspeedways the past couple of years. There are quite a few value drivers that you can insert into your lineup. Let’s now take a deep dive into who I think you can insert into your lineup for the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 at Darlington Raceway.

Past Winners/Track Knowledge

It’s time for the NASCARs Xfinity Series to take their best shot winning at Darlington Raceway for the second time this year. The Xfinity Series raced at Darlington earlier this year where Justin Allgaier left victorious. This will be a 200.8-mile race where the drivers will be tasked with completing 147 laps around the Raceway. Darlington Raceway is a 1.336-mile Raceway, with an asphalt surface. This raceway is home to 4 turns that will push drivers to the limit. The best part about Darlington is that each turn has its own set of challenges that the drivers must overcome. As stage points are becoming more coveted as the year goes on and racers, must win stages to get those oh so valuable stage points, racers will have three stages to try and get points. Stage one is 45 laps, stage two is 45 laps, and stage three is 57 laps. With Darlington being a tricky track with a history there is a lot of data to sift through as we build out winning lineup.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200 at Darlington Raceway on 09/04/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Austin Cindric $ 11,300
Driver #2Austin Dillon $ 10,800

Driver #4

Driver #6

A-List Premium Price Drivers

Austin Cindric ($11,300)

As the current top driver in the Xfinity Series, Austin Cindric is a no brainer every week if you can find a way to fit him into your lineup. This is one of those weeks where I am going to do it no matter what, he is pricey but its worth it. Cindric has been excellent in 2021 where he has five wins, 14 top-five finishes, 17 top 10 finishes, and has led 597 laps. All his statistics this year are Xfinity Series highs. His worst finish this year is 39th at Daytona last weekend, but we will forget about that one for now. Pair that with the fact that Cindric has placed top 15 in every race that he finished. It is safe to say he has been electric. Cindric has dominated everywhere this year. Cindric is going to be moving up to the Cup Series next year, he has his sights set on loading up on Xfinity Series wins before he makes the jump. Cindric is the best driver with the best car, I say he wins this one and leads a ton of laps. Pair that with his excellent starting position for DFS purposes of 24th and he could be in for a monster day.

Austin Dillon ($10,800)

Richard Childress Racing Austin Dillon has had a pretty good start to the year. So far in 2021 Dillon’s highlights have been winning the Bluegreen Vacations Duel Two and finishing third in the Daytona 500. If he and his team can keep up their solid efforts there is no reason why Dillon cannot add another top 10 finish, or better, especially as he joins the Xfinity Series for this race. In four Xfinity races this year Dillon has an 11th, 13th, 37th, and sixth place finish. Dillon is one of the better drivers in this race, while also keeping in mind that he starts 35th, a top 10 finish is not out of the realm of possible for Dillon who could be in for a big day. As a whole in 2021, Dillon has one top five finish and six top 10 finishes, all in the Cup Series. Dillon has also been improving his average finish this year. Look for Dillon to add another top 10 finish this weekend.

B-List Value Drivers

Michael Annett ($8,100)

The driver of the number 1 for JR Motorsports Michael Annett finished the 2020 season ninth in points and made the playoffs. Annett is one of the more seasoned veterans in the Xfinity Series with his 314 career starts. Annett has been able to secure one top five finish and eight top 10 finishes so far this year, including a seventh-place finish at Dover and a so close top 10 finish at the Circuit of Americas with an 11th place finish. Annett has an eighth-place finish in 2019 at Watkins Glenn after starting 14th. I really like Annett’s starting position this week of 19th. Annett is going to be looking at continuing his good season this year by adding another top 10 finish, something he has shown he can do numerous times.

Ryan Sieg ($7,500)

Driving the Number 39 for his family-owned RSS Racing, Ryan Sieg had his best season to date in 2020 where he had seven top five finishes, 11 top 10 finishes, and qualified for the playoffs in the meantime. So far in 2021 Sieg has not quite had as good of a season but he does have one top five and six top 10 finishes so far. If he can go on a hot streak this year, there is no reason why he cannot get close to his 2020 totals. Sieg will start 12th this weekend, which by itself makes him eligible for a lot of point differential points. Look at Sieg as a sleeper this week. A good starting position and a great price.

C-List Sleeper Pick Drivers

Colin Garrett ($6,500)

This will be Garrett’s fourth race of the 2021 season and 11th of his career. The 21-year-old driver has yet to finish in the top 10 in his career but did have an impressive race earlier this year at Talladega where he turned a 22nd lace start into a 15th place finish and at Michigan he started 29thand finished 20th, not bad. In every race but the last Garrett has had the past two years he has finished better then he started. Garrett is going to start this race in 31st and if he can get into the top 20, he will be in for a good day DFS wise.

Jesse Little ($5,800)

After signing with JD Motorsports at the start of 2020 to race for the season full-time, Jesse Little finished 19th place with little funding. Little had two top 10 finishes in 2020, and what’s great is that one was at Daytona. With his rookie season under his belt Little is going to be looking forward to the 2021 season where he can try to turn his 10 top 15 finishes into top 10 finishes or better. I do not think Little is in contention to win this race, but I do think that he provides excellent value for someone who will be starting near the back of the pack.
