The Los Angeles Clippers managed to avoid elimination last time out by winning game five on the road against the Pheonix Suns. The Clippers Host the Suns tonight for game six, as the Suns go into the game with a three to two series lead. Kawhi Leonard will remain out for tonight, and Ivica Zubac is questionable. If Zubac is out we are looking towards the Clippers for a lot of our value tonight, but we probably prefer the Clippers regardless. We have a serious lack of value on this slate, so it will be challenging finding guys to pay up for. As a result, we are forced into a more midrange build then we have been using in previous slates.

Paul George has been playing on a whole new level since Leonard went down with injury. He scored over 70 FPTS last game and we are seeing him routinely score over 55 FPTS. We are all over George tonight, as the rest of the field will likely be. Going light on George tonight is putting him in the utility spot as he will be somewhere in all our lineups. You probably do not need me to tell you to captain George for cash games, and we will be using him a lot for tournaments as well. George has fantastic upside, and he has not shown his low floor in the time that Leonard has been out. A lot of people are going to like George tonight, but this is not where we want to get different.
Zubac was our favorite option for value going into last game as he had been playing nearly 40 minutes a night. Zubac was surprisingly announced out before the game, and it is likely he does not play again. Regardless, we expect that Zubac is unable to play the 40 minutes he was looking at before getting hurt. Marcus Morris was the recipient of a lot of those minutes last time out, as he scored 31.25 FPTS in 38.5 minutes. It is somewhat of a shock that Morris has been made significantly cheaper for tonight’s game, as we can now roster him for only $4,000. Morris is our favorite play on the slate for value if Zubac is out again tonight, and we really like getting to him regardless of if Zubac plays.
Devin Booker and Chris Paul have both been quite inconsistent throughout the conference finals, and it is tough to decide which one we want to roster. We do know that we want one of these two guys in our lineups, which is why we want to go over this in our core. However, as it is too tough to pick one of Booker or Paul tonight, we want to talk about Reggie Jackson as a more midrange target. We have been trying to roster George, Booker and Paul together in previous slates, but we don’t have the value to make that work tonight. That is why we really like looking to Jackson as a midrange option to play alongside two stars. Jackson has been doing a lot for the Clippers since Leonard went down, as he has been playing nearly 40 minutes a night with some monster usage. Jackson is our favorite option tonight in this price, and his $8,200 tag is well warranted.

Morris is a core play for us tonight over on DraftKings, but he has been priced up significantly on FanDuel, so we are a lot less intrigued. However, it is a little easier for us to distinguish between the Pheonix studs on FD. Booker is not as effective a producer on FD as he is over on DK, and Paul has more upside from defensive stats. Paul is who we want to play if there is something useful we can do with $500 savings we get from rostering him over Booker.

Devin Booker – ($10,200 DK)Booker has really struggled shooting the ball this series, and it is hard to prioritize him over other stars. However, we still really want to get some exposure to Booker for tournaments as he has some of the best upside on the slate. We know Booker is the kind of guy who can have a 70 FPT night, and we cannot ignore that ceiling for GPP’s.
Deandre Ayton – ($8,800 DK) Ayton is an interesting play as he offers a path to getting quite unique with your lineup. Ayton is significantly cheaper then the other two big names on the Suns, and he allows us to get to a much more midrange build. Ayton brings a ton of variance in his production, as we have seen him score 29 and 61 FPTS respectively in his last two games. He is a play we are reserving for GPP’s, but we don’t mind him at all in those contests.
Abdel Nader – ($1,000 DK) On a different slate we would not have any interest in Nader as he has an extremely low floor. However, we like him a lot tonight due to the salary we save from rostering him. Nader was injured for months but returned to the court two games ago. He played 5 minutes in his first game back and nine minutes last game. If the trend continues and he goes above ten minutes tonight, he will likely be able to get the stats we need from him here. He allows us to roster two stars with ease or squeeze in three, so eight to ten FPTS could be enough from him.
General strategy
The value is tough for tonight, as a lot of punt options like DeMarcus Cousins have been priced up dramatically. A few guys are no longer cheap enough that we can roster then and have enough salary for multiple stars. We really like taking the Punt on Nader here, but we also like going to a more balanced build. For cash games tonight we will probably keep it to two superstars, so we do not have to take too many risks at the bottom of the slate. We do not mind getting riskier for tournaments, but we don’t want too much exposure to any of the guys at the very bottom.
