Tonight, is game four between the L.A Clippers and the Pheonix Suns. The suns are up two to one in the series, and we know the Clippers will remain without Kawhi Leonard. For DFS tonight we are still higher on the Clippers side, as the Suns saw Chris Paul return to action last game. The Clippers have less options here and are in a more drastic situation on the series. We are confident the usual suspects play a ton of minutes for L.A. tonight. Our favorite plays on both ends of the slate are Clippers, but we will also make sure to get some exposure to the Suns guys. We are looking at a stars and scrubs style build tonight, as we typically need two or three stars on these showdown slates.

Paul George was our target for captain last time out, as the Suns have more cooks in the Kitchen with Paul’s return. George is the most expensive option tonight, as we are paying $16,800 to captain him. However, the price is well warranted as he has the best upside on the slate by far. George has played over 40 minutes in each of his past two, and we have been seeing him consistently put up around 25 shot attempts. George went for 59.75 FPTS last game, and it would not be surprising to see him show that upside again. George is the obvious captain play for Cash games, and he looks good for tournaments. However, we do not mind trying to pivot to a cheaper guy for big tournaments.
The guy who broke the slate in game three was Ivica Zubac as we saw him explode for 44 FPTS. Obviously, we do not expect him to be that good again tonight, but we do love him at his $4,200 price tag. Zubac has gotten $1000 cheaper for tonight which is eye raising considering how good he was last time out. Zubac played 34 and 33 minutes in the past two games, and he scored 30.75 FPTS two games ago. We expect he continues to play some nice run as he has been great in his minutes. Zubac will probably be high owned here, but we just want to play him anyway and get different elsewhere.
Devin Booker has struggled the past few slates, so we prefer to get to Chris Paul tonight at $9,800. Paul did not miss any floor time in his first game back from contracting COVID-19, as we saw him play 39 minutes. Paul struggled from the floor shooting five for nineteen, however he still came up with 43 FPTS. Paul was fantastic in the series against the Nuggets, as he averaged over 50 FPTS per game. We expect Paul to see a massive role again tonight and he is $1000 cheaper than Booker. We will be getting to at least one of these guys in every lineup and Paul is our priority.

Devin Booker – ($10,800 DK)We mentioned that Paul is our priority for tonight but we still really like getting to Booker. If you are playing multiple lineups tonight you want some exposure to Booker. Booker can also definitely be played alongside George and Paul tonight, as we have some solid cheaper guys to find value. If you do not use George for captain it will be easier to play Booker alongside the other two stars, but they should not be too hard to fit regardless.
Deandre Ayton – ($8,200 DK) We want to mention Ayton here as he has seen a significant price drop since the last slate. Ayton has some solid upside and a big game from him would mean a lot at this price. However, we are not going to prioritize Ayton over any of George, Paul, or Booker.
Reggie Jackson – ($7,400 DK) Jackson has been our go to midrange option this series, as he plays a massive role with Leonard off the floor. Jackson has scored well over 30 FPTS every game since Leonard got hurt, and he has showed upside of over 54 FPTS. He is playing a massive role offensively as the second option behind George, while playing mid to high 30’s in minutes a night. Jackson has great upside an he has been showing some great floor for the price.
Luke Kennard – ($2,200 DK) Kennard is not a guy we expect to go and put up a ton of FPTS, but his low-price tag is crucial for being able to roster three stars tonight. Kennard has been playing a decent role with Leonard out, as he has played around 20 minutes in the past two games. We have seen Kennard go for 16.5 and 12.75 FPTS respectively in the past two games. That range is not exciting, but it could be all we need at this price.
General strategy
We want to talk a bit about lineup construction here, as you have a lot of options with what you want to do for this one. We have three bona fide stars playing tonight, and we really like trying to fit them all in the same lineup. If this one stays close it is likely that George, Paul, and Booker all have solid games. For cash tonight we are looking to captain George and try and fit in the other two stars. For bigger tournaments we like trying to get to a cheaper captain, as that allows us to take all three studs without taking on overly risky value. However, George is in a position where it is likely he is who you want at captain in all types of contests.
