We have an thirteen-game slate with first pitch at 7:07 PM EST. Today’s slate of games is highlighted by Wander Franco and the Tampa Bay Rays, taking on Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels in Los Angeles. The highest implied run totals tonight sit with the Toronto Blue Jays (6.5), Houston Astros (6.1), the New York Yankees (5.6).

There is a good chance that rain in Detroit will either force the game with the Tigers and the Astros to be delayed or postponed, so keep an eye on that situation leading up to game time.

Here is a selection of today’s Core Players 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 6/25/21 (using DraftKings Values)

 PitcherSean Manaea $9,800

 First BaseLuke Voit $4,400
 Second BaseRougned Odor $3,400
 Third Base
 Short StopJavier Baez $4,000
 OutfieldWil Myers $3,700

Sean Manaea ($11,500)

Manaea hasn’t given up more than two runs since May 18. That is over a month now. He will be facing a Giants team that has been striking out 35 percent of the time over the last four days, and when you add that this game is in the pitcher friendly confines of Oracle Park, this should be a good start for Manaea.

Luke Voit – 1B ($4,100)

Voit has hits in each of his three games, since coming off the IL. He also has hit a home run in two of those three games, so it looks like Voit is feeling good after his injury.

Rougned Odor – 2B ($3,400)

Odor has hits in three of his last four starts with a double and two home runs in those games. Odor is often boom or bust due to his low walk rate and high strikeout rate.

Javier Baez – SS ($3,800)

Baez carries a similar profile to Odor, where they don’t’ walk as much as we might like, and they definitely strike out too much. That said, when they are hitting they are hitting well. Baez has a home run and a double in his last two games.

Wil Myers – OF ($3,700)

I expect we will see the Padres score more runs this weekend, as they move away from seeing the tough starting pitchers of the Dodgers to seeing the significantly weaker pitching of the Diamondbacks. Myers hits in four of his last six games, with two doubles, two homeruns and a triple in that six game span.

Now what do you get if you sign up now? • Seven days free trial to read every and ALL of our content. • Full lineup support for the 50-50 lineup above • A more risky full lineup for a GPP. • A number of alternative picks that you mix in for some variations on your core lineups. Much more.

The A List

J.D. Martinez – OF ($5,200 DK) Martinez is on a thirteen hitting streak, and in his last five games he has a double, a triple, and a home run. He is among the safer hitters in baseball, but he still has big upside.

Alek Manoah – P ($8,100) – When Manoah isn’t giving up home runs, he is very effective, so he obviously comes with some risk. He is going to be facing a Orioles team today who hasn’t hit well all week, so I look for this to be one of the better starts where he keeps the ball in the yard.

The B List

Austin Riley – 3B ($3,900) – Riley is another player we are looking to buy on their dip tonight, but is showing signs of getting hot again. Riley three hits and two doubles in his last two games after having a rough eight game stretch.

Chris Paddack – P ($8,900) – Paddack has had his struggles this year with giving up home runs, but in his last two starts he has given up just four runs while striking out 20 batters. He will be facing a struggling Diamondbacks team, that has been among the worst road teams in the league this year.

The C List

Tyler O’Neill – OF ($3,400) – In his last five games, O’Neill has three hits with two of those being doubles. The Cardinals have too many good hitters to continue to not hit bad pitching teams like the Pirates. In GPP games, I would look to take a shot on a player like O’Neill who has big power, and you’re going to get him at a reasonable price.

Sean Murphy – C ($4,000 DK) I don’t like paying this much for a catching typically, but Murphy is in the midst of a really nice season, and in his last three games he five hits with two doubles and two home runs.

The Strategy

Cash Games – With this size of slate, you will want to play things as safe as possible. Take the top end pitchers where you can(Manaea being a prime example), try to leverage the implied run totals as much as you can. Meaning get cheap Yankees, Blue Jays, etc.

GPP Games – For GPP on this size of slate it is nearly the polar opposite of the cash game strategy. There could be a lot of variance, and we should expect that Blue Jays, and Yankees players will be popular, so we will want to buy in on a team like the Cardinals who have been struggling more than expected, but could break out of their team slump and put a lot of runs on the Pirates.
