We have an ugly two game slate to talk about tonight, as the Wizards host the Sixers, and the Grizzlies host the Jazz. We do not have too many obvious plays tonight, which we really like. A lot of people are not going to know where to start with this kind of slate, while we have some solid value if you know where to look. We are going with a balanced build here, as the superstars on this slate have not been incredibly reliable lately. Furthermore, we do not have a lot of enticing plays below $4,000 today, so we are not looking to commit too much salary to our studs.

Here’s a balanced lineup For DFS Basketball 5/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)

Point GuardB. Simmons $7,600
Shooting GuardB. Beal $9,000
Small ForwardD. Green $4,300
Power ForwardR. O’Neale $4,600
Center
Guard
Forward $5,600
Utility

Ben Simmons has been one of our favorite plays over the past few slates, as he has been ridiculously cheap for the fast-paced match up against the Wizards. Simmons has been priced up to $7,600, which is still a great price to be paying for him. Simmons has gone for over 50 FPTS in both games this series and it does not make sense that he has not been priced up more dramatically. Simmons is one of our favorite plays on a slate that is hard to find priorities on. Simmons is great in fast pace matches like this, and we have seen him take a lot of offensive responsibility this series, even when he struggled to score for himself. Simmons has a lot of ways to hit value here, and he has some of the best upside on the slate.

Russell Westbrook is questionable as of now and we need to hear that news. We do not really love getting to Westbrook either way here, but if he ends up out we are stacking the other Wizards guys. Bradley Beal looks solid regardless, but he is an easy lock if Westbrook ends up out for this one. We do have to assume Westbrook forces himself to play, but we like Beal even if that is the case. Beal has some great upside and is still coming at a very reasonable $9,000. We do not have too many stars tonight, and Beal lets us roster a superstar without taking a risky expensive play like Westbrook.

The Sixers are still our favorite team to target today, as the Wizards are really the only great matchup on the slate. Washington has been getting blown out the last few games, which has hurt the minutes of everyone involved. Danny Green only played 21.4 minutes last game to go for 14.5 FPTS. However, the Sixers did not need to play him much due to the blowout. We expect Green to get his 30 minutes if this stays at all close, which makes him a strong value option given the $4,300.

Royce O’Neale is a similar play to Green here as we are looking to get minutes for cheap. O’Neale is priced at $4,600 for tonight and he has been playing massive run for the Jazz. O’Neale scored 30 FPTS last game in 34 minutes and we expect to see a similar opportunity tonight. The forward positions are tough if you are not spending all the way up, so we must rely on these cheap minutes guys that are available.

Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• A cheap center who has been producing lately
• A stud guard with fantastic upside

Rudy Gobert – C ($7,700 DK)Gobert looks fantastic here as he is not at all priced for the extra minutes he is playing during the playoffs. Gobert went for over 50 FPTS last game and it is surprising that his price remained the same. We expect Gobert to play close to 40 minutes for a competitive game, as the only reason his run was limited in game one was that he fouled out. If Gobert can play high 30’s to 40 minutes tonight he should be able to crush this price tag and he has fantastic upside. Gobert can go crazy with blocks and rebounds, which is what gives him the potential for a monster performance.

Mike Conley – G ($6,800 DK) Conley is expensive here, but we have seen him do a lot of for the Utah offense lately. As it appears Donnovan Mitchell is still working himself back to perfect condition, we expect to see an extended role for Conley like we saw last game. Conley went off last game, going for 49.5 FPTS. His playmaking was relied on heavily, and a lot of the shots Mitchell was taking were assisted by Conley. Conley has great upside again here, and his price has not been changed much by the big performances he has showed lately.

Jaren Jackson Jr. – F ($5,600 DK) Jackson is never a play we go to in Cash games as he is quite inconsistent for a few reasons. Jackson consistently struggles with foul trouble which has kept him limited for part of the series. However, Jackson does give us some nice upside as he is a good per minute producer. He can get going with points and blocks and be a huge piece for tournaments. On a slate this small, the upside here cannot be overlooked for GPP’s.

Daniel Gafford – Util ($4,200 DK) On a bigger slate we would probably look elsewhere for value. However, we are low on value options tonight and Gafford is one of our favorite available. Gafford has proven to be the most productive of the Washington big men so far this series, as he scored over 20 FPTS every game. Gafford has hit solid value at this tag every playoff game so far, which is all we can ask for on a slate like this. Gafford does have good upside, especially if this blows out. Gafford has appeared to be the strongest center for the Wizards, so we would not be surprised if he begins to play more minutes as the season develops.

Here’s a balance lineup For DFS Basketball 5/29/21 (using FanDuel Values)

Point GuardB. Simmons $9,000
Point GuardM. Conley $7,900
Shooting GuardB. Beal $9,800
Shooting GuardT. Maxey $6,000
Small ForwardD. Green $7,600
Small ForwardK. Anderson $4,700
Power ForwardJ. Jackson Jr $4,800
Power ForwardR. O’Neale $7,500
CenterR. Gobert $5,000

Tyrese Maxey – SG (3,900 FD) If this is a very tight competitive game, it will probably not look for Maxey. However, Maxey is an interesting dart throw here as he does have a ton of potential in a blowout. We never rely on a blowout, so we would only use Maxey as a contrarian tournament option, but the upside is there. We saw Maxey do well last game in a blowout and his production could have been even better. This series has not stayed close at all, which is why we have some interest in a budget stud like Maxey.

Kyle Anderson – SF (6,600 FD) The small forward position on FanDuel tonight is disgusting from top to bottom. Honestly, this is an ugly price tag on Anderson, and we would look elsewhere on a bigger slate. However, we have some very unreliable plays at this position and Anderson is one of the only ones with real production. Anderson went for 32.7 FPTS last game and 40 FPTS the game before that. Anderson is great with defensive stats and has some decent upside. If he has a good game here, he will be an absolute must, considering what this position looks like.
