Do we have a budding storyline for you today! The Central division is poised to get shaken up over the next few days and it will be at the hands of the Dallas Stars. A win tonight over a Tampa Bay Lightning team that has been a bit sloppy defensively would put them in a tie with the Nashville Predators for the last playoff spot. Not only that, the Stars and Preds play each other on Saturday. So tonight we have a matchup between the Stanley Cup Finalists from last year followed by a chance for Dallas to gain significant ground in the playoff race this weekend. Buckle up, it is going to be a wild ride.

Goalie | J. Oettinger | $7,200
Utility | $6,600 |
Jamie Benn is going to be an animal tonight. We wanted to go with Hintz but are a little worried about his health and we are going with his winger to make up for it anyway. Benn is the cheaper option but if you saw his overtime winner from this past week you know he is always dangerous.
Jason Robertson is making an incredible case for rookie of the year. He is just under a point per game and has that other statistic going on where we just ask you to knock on wood. Shhh.
Miro Heiskanen. We are torn between Miro and Klingberg right now but the $100 savings was enough to afford our ridiculous utility player and it will always be a coin flip between these two. Play him with confidence he will be showing up tonight.
Jake Oettinger. Is there a risk in taking a young goalie against a Stanley Cup winning team? Of course! But that is what we are here for. He has been having a fantastic season and the Stars trust him. He has been a blessing with Bishop out and Khudobin not playing at the same level as last year. Goalie of the future.
Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now
- Even we were surprised at how much money we had left for our baller utility player
- A third line winger who has been putting tons of shot on net and who we think is closing in on a goal
- A couple other big surprises. Get in here now.
Here’s a Texas-sized lineup For DFS Hockey 4/29/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Center | C. McDavid | $9,100
Center | J. Benn | $4,700 | |
Wing | J. Robertson | $6,100
Wing | Galchenyuk | $3,900
Wing | Z. Aston-Reese | $2,700
Defense | M. Heiskanen | $5,400
Defense | M. Weegar | $4,300
Goalie | J. Oettinger | $7,200
Utility | S. Aho | $6,600 |
Connor McDavid – C. This may be the first time we have put McDavid behind the paywall but it worked out. The savings on goalie and second center were more than enough to get the best player in the world. You are welcome.
Alex Galchenyuk – W. We of course like it more when Galch is on Matthews line but the Maple Leafs are putting together their depth scoring and Tavares and Nylander are playing very well right now.
Zach Aston-Reese – W. This is a guy who has been bubbling in the back of our heads for awhile. We keep hearing his name when he is on the ice and he has been putting up some nice shot totals. We were actually surprised by his shooting percentage which is a tad high but with the amount of pucks he is putting on net it certainly feels like he is ready to pop off.
Mackenzie Weegar – D. It may be a while before Weegar gets top power play time with Keith Yandle hanging around and Ekblad hopefully coming back healthy next season but Weegar has been crushing it this year. Thirty points in 49 games for a second-ish defenseman is pretty impressive given his lack of time on the man advantage.
Sebastian Aho – U. Um, yup, that is our utility guy today. Sebastian freaking Aho. Just a point per game top line center on one of the best teams in the National Hockey League. Not a big deal.
It is thirsty Thursday and we are parched…for a Stars trouncing of the Lightning. It may as well be playoffs right now folks because this one is going to be a barn burner. If you have not yet, we would love to see you over on our Twitter (@FantasyDFSX). Take it easy and we will see you tomorrow morning.
