NBA DFS Picks for April 15 2021

We only have four games to break down for tonight and this slate feels a lot more manageable than what we have been used to. We have a surprising amount of value tonight, as there are multiple plays under $4,000 that look very solid. In consequence, we have a lot more extra salary then we normally would on a slate of this size. However, there are not a lot of great studs tonight and to make things worse, we do not know if a few of the top guys are playing or not. We will highlight some guys who look great tonight with the news we have now, and some value plays that should be good regardless. Furthermore, we are going to talk about some guys who might be priority plays tonight depending on the news that is still up in the air.

We are all over the Phoenix Suns tonight as they have a fantastic matchup against the Sacramento Kings tonight. With only four games on the slate, we are going to be heavy on teams that look particularly good. Furthermore, we are getting great tags on a few of the Phoenix guys, one of which being Cameron Payne. Payne is only $3,500 tonight despite solid production as of late. Payne has scored over 20 FPTS in three straight games and went for 33.25 FPTS last game. Considering the matchup with Sacramento tonight, Payne is a phenomenal DFS option at this price. Value plays of this caliber are a huge luxury on a slate this small.

Trae Young is listed questionable for tonight and we really do not know whether he is going to play. If Young is in, obviously he is going to take a lot of the usage and he is the only Hawks guy who is interesting. However, if Young remains out we want to get some Atlanta exposure, starting with Bogdan Bogdanovic who has been absolutely torching for the Hawks lately. Bogdanovic has been especially dominant in games with Young off the floor as he has showed us 50 FPT upside recently. Bogdanovic has become a huge usage guy for Atlanta, and we expect him to take more shots than anyone with Young off the floor. Bogdanovic is not cheap tonight at $7,200, but on this slate we need his upside if Atlanta is still playing without there star.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has not played since the fourth, but he is questionable to return tonight. If Antetokounmpo remains sidelined, we want to keep rolling the dice on Khris Middleton. Middleton did not consistently deliver on slates without Antetokounmpo, but the opportunity was always there. We expect the same situation tonight and Middleton should have a chance for a huge game if Antetokounmpo does not play. We saw Middleton go for 49.5 FPTS last game and he had opportunity for even more with the role he was showing. Middleton could be in for a big game and on a slate this small we need that upside.

We mentioned how we want to get a few guys from Phoenix tonight, as they have one of the best matchups in the league against the Kings. Deandre Ayton is a guy we have been getting a lot too lately and he is a lock for us tonight. Ayton has been playing great for a while now and is yet to be priced up on DraftKings. Ayton has smashed for a few slates now and is still only $6,700 on DK. He went for 42.8 FPTS last game and is averaging 40.2 FPTS over the last ten days. Ayton has an incredible matchup against the Kings tonight and we expect him to crush his price tag once again. The Kings are running an injured center rotation and we should see Ayton crush whoever they send out.

Cameron Johnson – PF ($3,400 DK) Johnson is another cheap play who should be way more expensive tonight given the matchup and his recent production. Johnson has scored over 25 FPTS in each of his last two contests. Johnson played 30 minutes last game and there is no reason to think he will not continue to play big minutes tonight. Johnson will be enjoying an easy matchup with the Kings tonight and we could see him go for well over 20 FPTS again. On a slate this small the value we get from Johnson is huge if he has a big night.

Hassan Whiteside – C ($3,400 DK) The Kings are missing their usual frontcourt and the door is wide open for Whiteside. Whiteside is sure to get some run again tonight, and he is so good a DFS producer he typically smashes value whenever he sees the floor at this price. Whiteside did not even start last game and only played 23 minutes, but he scored over 36 FPTS. Whiteside should be in for similar run tonight and Whiteside always has upside to be one of the best plays on the slate in situations like this. Whiteside has a tough matchup tonight, but if he plays solid minutes it really does not matter.

Steph Curry – G ($10,600 DK) We have a ton of value tonight and not a lot of our preferred studs to pay up for. Curry has been great, and we just got the news that Kelly Oubre Jr. is going to be sideline again tonight. We have seen Curry receive a solid bump with Oubre out as he must take on a crazy role for this squad. Curry is averaging over 60 FPTS across the past ten days and he scored 67 FPTS or more in each of his last two games. Curry is doing everything for Golden State right now and no one on Cleveland is slowing him down. Curry has great upside, and he does not have too much competition at the top of the slate tonight. 

Andrew Wiggins – F ($6,900 DK) Wiggins has had a solid opportunity consistently for the Warriors, but we see even more usage go his way with Oubre out of the lineup. Wiggins always has good upside and he i9s the only Warrior who can create his own shots besides Curry. Wiggins does have a low floor and is not a great play for cash games. However, he has great upside, which is not something we have too much of on slates this size.

Tyrese Haliburton – SG (5,400 FD) Haliburton looks great at this price as we have seen a lot of solid games from him. We saw Haliburton go for over 37 FPTS just last game. At this price Haliburton has unreal upside and could be one of the better plays on the slate with a big game. Haliburton does have a very tough matchup tonight with the Suns, but the discount in his price makes up for that. 

Harrison Barnes – PF (5,800 FD) Similar to Haliburton, there is a lot of variance in the performances we see out of Barbes. However priced under $6,000 Barnes is priced for a poor performance. Barnes has had a great opportunity all year for the Kings and his minutes are solid with all the big men injured. Barnes has massive upside and can easily go for over 40 FPTS, which would me phenomenal at this price point. 

Markieff Morris – PF (4,900 FD) Morris is questionable for tonight and we do not know if he is going to be taking the floor as of now. However, the Lakers are so gutted right now, and we expect Morris will see another solid opportunity if he is to play. Morris has scored over 25 FPTS in both his last two outing and he has showed us big games before. If Morris is out, we can look down the rotation for the Lakers, as any forwards left healthy should be solid value.
