Another day and another last minute goalie switch. Colorado decided to go with Jonas Johansson last night on the front half of a back to back. They have confirmed that Grubauer will be in today against the Arizona Coyotes and while he remains a fantastic option, we are going a little cheaper to allow for some higher priced defensemen.
The juiciest matchups that we are eyeing today are going to have the Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Winnipeg Jets, Vegas Golden Knights and yes, maybe even an Avalanche player. There continues to be an absurd amount of hockey being played every day but we are staying ahead of it for you. The trade deadline is today so expect some notes on that as well.

Auston Matthews is not just running away with the Rocket Richard Trophy he is sprinting. He is a cheat code and an unfair advantage. We do not envy whoever is in the Canadiens net tonight. They will have their work cut out for them.
Kyle Connor may someday get into the Rocket conversation but for now he is chilling at around tenth in the league in goals scored. He is a modest man with a straight line speed that also ranks top class. The matchup against the Sens third or fourth string goalie is one we will be leveraging more today.
Dougie Hamilton. The Hurricanes lost in the shootout to the Red Wings last game and they cannot let that happen again. We are hoping Dougie comes out strong early on to get on the board and remind Detroit who is at the top of the standings and who is in the basement.
Connor Hellebuyck did not see as many shots as we were expecting the last time they played the Sens but the premise remains the same. Ottawa likes to shoot and Hellebuyck likes to stand tall. He will have the offensive support he needs to stay ahead of this one.
Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now
- A surprise top power play assignment
- A winger whose priced jumped but is still undervalued
- A utility guy with all the upside

Adam Lowry – C is probably a little bummed that he lost Copp to the top line but he still gets it done. We really like where linemate Mason Appleton’s career is going and the matchup continues to be high value.
Alex Galchenyuk – W saw a 20% price increase since we took him last game. That makes sense to us because we could not yell loud enough that he was undervalued. Spoiler alert, he still is.
Paul Stastny – W. If we are reading this correctly Stastny is top power play in Winnipeg today. He is an all around good player and has been doing well since coming back. This is his second tour with the Jets and has plans to help them go deep.
Nic Hague – D may not look like much but he plays well against Los Angeles. His floor is not as high as we normally go for but he will still eat shots when he needs to. He will throw a couple on net as well and he provides an interesting ceiling.
Pius Suter – U. It has been a long time since we have gone after this guy but there are a couple things working in his favor. The obvious one is that Patrick Kane is on his wing. The next one is that the Blue Jackets lost captain Foligno in a trade last night and may be doing a little tank job to end the season. Things are not going well in Columbus and Chicago has a shot at a playoff spot. They will come out hard tonight.
Yesterday in this section we mentioned a player that we did not get to pick because he was in an early game. He scored. Not a big deal. Follow us on Twitter (@FantasyDFSX) to stay abreast of news and updates. We hope you have a great week!
