Was that not such a fun weekend… or Monday of racing last week. With the weather, unpredictable we were forced to race on Monday night. Nevertheless, my lineup on Fanduel raced excellently, with the exception of Christopher Bell. The lineup of Joey Logano (Winner), Ricky Stenhouse Jr (Second Place), William Byron (Sixth Place), and Kyle Busch (16th Place) yielded an excellent amount of points. If Bell had not have crashed this lineup could have been one of the best on the night. Coming into the first of two races at Martinsville on the year we look at some drivers who have been really successful of late at this track, such as Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr, and Ryan Blaney. All three are going to cost you a pretty penny if you choose to put then into your lineup however. I have put a line up together this week that allows you to enter one of these three drivers while still maximizing your lineups potential. Last year’s winners at Martinsville were Martin Truex Jr and Chase Elliot. Elliot’s win coming to secure his place into the final four race.

Kyle Busch
As one of the best and most streaky drivers I do not see why Kyle Busch cannot find his way into victory lane for the second time this year (yes, the first was exhibition) and also for the third time at Martinsville. Busch is also only one of nine active drivers who have won on this racecourse. Busch had a very disappointing year as per his standards with only two top 10 finishes at Las Vegas and Atlanta. In his career Busch has two wins, 16 top-five finishes, 18top 10 finishes, and has led 1,429 laps at Martinsville. No reason he cannot win another one after starting this race in the 12thposition.
William Byron
Here is a driver who is coming at a huge discount this week. Byron is one of seven winners this year. Byron had a quiet start to the year at Daytona where he had an average finish of 29.5. He has turned that around the last five races, especially after his win at Miami-Homestead. Byron had finished in eighth place three straight races in a row and kept his top 10 streak alive with a sixth-place finish at the Bristol Dirt Track. Martinsville has been a decent track for Byron where he has one top five finish and two top 10 finishes. 2021 has been his best year yet and he has shown a lot of improvement. I think Byron can be right in the mix of things by race end and at his low price I think he has a lot of value.
Matt DiBenedetto
As for star power, you are not getting that with DiBenedetto. However, you are getting g a driver who has finished on average 10 places better then he started in six of eight races this year. After starting the year with three 25 plus place finishes DiBenedetto has turned the corner and finished in the top 20 in four straight races. With DiBenedetto starting 22nd this weekend, he is in a great spot to gain some point differential points as he pushes his way into the top 15 or top 10. DiBenedetto does have two top 10 finishes in the last three years at Martinsville to add to his value appeal.

Ryan Blaney
Ryan Blaney had a rough three race start to the 2021 season. However, he has really tuned the page since Las Vegas. In the last four races Blaney has finished fifth at Las Vegas, 10th and Phoenix, first at Atlanta and eighth at the Bristol Dirt Track. Martinsville has been one of Blaney’s best tracks in the last three years. He has done everything but win on this race course. Look for Ryan Blaney to come out with a chip on his shoulder this coming Saturday. With five top five finishes in the last six races, two of them being second place, Blaney is going to be motivated to win it this time around. In six races in the past three years Blaney has five top-five finishes, five top 10 finishes and has led 215 laps. Blaney is a guy that if you can squeeze him into your lineup this week you should.
Alex Bowman
2021 has been a little disappointing for Bowman so far. Stepping into some big shoes, Alex Bowman was given the Number 48 car after a very successful 2020 season that saw him finish sixth in points and a top-eight overall finish. Bowman won one race in 2020 as well as adding six top-five finishes and 15 top 20 finishes. Bowman has two Cup wins with Hendrick over the past three seasons. At Martinsville in his career Bowman has three top 10 finishes in 10 races. Bowman is going to start this race in the 20th position giving him point differential potential. Look for Bowman to enter the top 10 come race end.
Aric Almirola
In his fourth year with Stewart-Haas Racing, Aric Almirola is looking for his first top 10 finish outside of his first-place finish in the Bluegreen Vacations Duel One at Daytona. At Martinsville over the last three years, Almirola has an average finish of 18.50. Now I know that is not great but he does have two top-five finishes and four top 10 finishes in the same span. Almirola is going to start this race in the very back in 31st place. Almirola is more than capable of reaching the top 15 or even top 10 in this race. I say he does it and does it early.
Daniel Suarez
Coming into his fifth season in the NASCAR Cup Series, Daniel Suarez has joined a new team. Suarez is now driving for Trackhouse Racing in the Number 99 car. Suarez has had a good season so far where he has one top-five finish, two top 10 finishes and six top 20 finishes in eight races. Suarez’s top five finish came last race at the Bristol Dirt track. He was the big surprise in the top 10 as that was his first-time racing on dirt. At Martinsville Suarez has two top 10 finishes in the last three years. I like Suarez as a value option this weekend as I try to fit Ryan Blaney into my lineup.
