We have a huge nine game slate to breakdown today and there are a lot of different things to point out. We have some big injuries today, but not quite as many as yesterday. A lot of news is still up in the air as of now and we will talk about some guys that look great with the information we have. There are a few specific value plays that look great tonight and, we can use them most effectively with a stars and scrubs lineup. A huge part of our strategy for tonight involves targeting both sides of the Warriors-Wizards game, as it should be a complete shootout. Beyond that, we are looking to the Charlotte Hornets as their gutted roster has created some phenomenal value opportunities.
Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 4/9/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | B. Wanamaker | $3,200
Shooting Guard | Z. Lavine | $7,800
Small Forward | M. Bridges | $5,500
Power Forward | $3,300 | ||
Center | $3,800 | ||
Guard | $11,000 | ||
Forward | $5,400 | ||
Utility | S. Curry | $9,900 |
The Hornets are missing LaMelo Ball, Gordon Hayward and Malik Monk again going into tonight. We have seen a lot of extra minutes flying around and some great value performances from the remaining Hornets. Brad Wanamaker looks like a great value tonight at only $3,200, as he has had a significant role since all the guys went down for Charlotte. Wanamaker has played 30, 18 and 23 minutes in his past three games and hit the 25 FPT mark twice. With a price tag near the minimum, it is very unlikely Wanamaker works out to awful value with significant run. While he should have the opportunity for another terrific value performance tonight.
The price tag on Zach Lavine is very appealing tonight, especially as he dropped 57 FPTS on the raptors just last night. Lavine is only $7,800 for tonight’s contest and he is averaging over 43 FPTS on the season. The Bulls have a great matchup tonight against the Hawks, and Lavine has so much upside because of how cheap he is. Lavine has had some slow games last week, but he was also questionable for injury in that time. In no way do we expect Lavine to have medium production short of 40 FPTS in the future. The price and matchup make Lavine a smash play in this spot, and he fills a shooting guard position that is somewhat ugly tonight.
We mentioned all the players that are going to be sidelined for the Hornets tonight. We saw massive run from Miles Bridges last game, and we expect him to see another nice opportunity tonight. Bridges played 36 minutes last game and has played over 30 in every game since the Hornets got hit with injuries. Bridges went for 26 FPTS last game as he did not take many shots. Which is still decent for his price of $5,500. However, we expect to see him typically shoot more and be more productive with this much time on the floor. Bridges went for 46 FPTS a few games back he will get another big opportunity tonight. Bridges has great upside and with all the minutes he is getting the floor is not a huge concern.
If you are a regular around here you probably notice how often we target the weak defense of the Washington Wizards. The Wizards play at the fastest pace in the league and are a great opportunity for opposing players in DFS. Steph Curry looks great tonight with the easy matchup as he has been playing great lately. Curry went for 55 FPTS last game and is averaging 53 FPTS over the last ten days. Curry cost $9,900 tonight and we are getting solid value with anything over 50. The Wizards have allowed some mammoth games to opposing stars lately and we could see a huge night for the Chef.

Jalen McDaniels – PF (3,300 DK) McDaniels started and played a whopping 32 minutes for the gutted Hornets squad last time out. McDaniels went for 38.5 FPTS last game and we only need about 20 for him to be a great value. McDaniels is so cheap tonight, and he is not at all priced for a spot in a starting lineup. If McDaniels is ruled a starter again tonight, he looks like one of the most solid value options on the slate. McDaniels opens a ton of salary and there is not a ton of downside if he gets the start.
Goga Bitadze – C ($3,800 DK) We mentioned last game how Bitadze was a smash play if he was to be the only center available. We already know that Myles Turner is out again tonight and Bitadze has not been adequately priced up for his role as the main center. Bitadze went for over 30 FPTS last game and our expectation is another smash value play if he starts again tonight. Domantas Sabonisis listed as questionable as of now. If Sabonis is in, Bitadze still looks solid for the price, however if Sabonis is ruled out Bitadze becomes an absolute smash like last time.
Russell Westbrook – G ($11,000 DK) Westbrook has been the top DFS producer in the league for a little while now and we are not expecting that to stop against the fast-paced warriors. Westbrook went for a monstrous 68.5 FPTS last game and 62 the game before that. Westbrook only has one game below 50 FPTS across his last ten. Westbrook has been an absolute must on multiple slates lately due to the mind-boggling number of raw points he has been producing. We have a solid amount of value tonight and we want to include Westbrook in our spend ups.
Will Barton – F ($5,400 DK) Barton was the last man in for this lineup, but he is underpriced tonight. Barton has scored over 30 FPTS in each of his past four outings and we are still getting him cheap. Barton went for over 40 FPTS two games ago and he has seen a massive role consistently. Barton played over 30 minutes in nine out of his past ten games and has been taking high usage. We are getting Barton at great price as he could easily go for north of 30 again tonight.
Here’s a stars and scrubs lineup For DFS Basketball 4/9/21 (using FanDuel Values)
Point Guard | R. Westbrook | $11,200
Point Guard | S. Curry | $9,600
Shooting Guard | Z. Lavine | $7,500
Shooting Guard | W. Barton | $5,900
Small Forward | K. Porter | $6,400
Small Forward | D. Avdija | $4,400
Power Forward | J. McDaniels | $4,300
Power Forward | M. Bridges | $5,800
Center | G. Bitadze | $4,900 |
Kevin Porter – SF (6,400 FD) We already know that John wall is going to be out for tonight’s contest against the Clippers. We should see a massive role here for Porter and we know he has some great upside. Porter has showed upside north of 40 FPTS recently and he is affordable on FanDuel. Porter has great upside and the injuries for Houston make his floor less worrisome.
Deni Avdija – SF ($4.400 FD) Avdija is a great value option as he is still cheap on FD. He has scored over 25 FPTS in three of the past four games and we have seen some solid opportunity. Avdija played 39 minutes in two of his last three games and he has been taking more usage lately. Avdija has improved throughout the season and he is in an interesting option to keep an eye on.
We just got the news Milwaukee is missing a few players. Khris Middleton is now a player we want to look at.
