We have eight NBA games to breakdown tonight and this is shaping up to be quite the slate. We have a few injuries already tonight and we know we will have some great value to work with. Our strategy for the night involves going very heavy on the Toronto Raptors. As of now, most the biggest injury news we have is that Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet are both out for the Raptors. We are looking to roster multiple Toronto guys, as they should all get a huge boost and that is our best opportunity to go after unless something even crazier opens. We are going to be going with a stars and scrubs build tonight, as we can find all the budget plays we need from Toronto.
Here’s a studs and duds lineup For DFS Basketball 4/6/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | M. Flynn | $3,900
Shooting Guard | G. Trent Jr. | $6,200
Small Forward | D. Bembry | $3,000
Power Forward | $8,200 | ||
Center | $4,100 | ||
Guard | $6,900 | ||
Forward | $7,000 | ||
Utility | G. Antetokounmpo | $10,700 |
We mentioned that we are high on the Raptors tonight, one guy who looks like an absolute lock is Malachi Flynn, Lowry and VanVleet were both out last night and we saw an absolute monster performance from Flynn. He is priced at $3,900 but if his last game were two nights ago not last night he would probably be priced over $5,000. Flynn scored a whopping 43.25 FPTS last game, and we saw him play 34 minutes in a very tight game. Flynn played over 30 minutes the night before in a 53-point blowout, which leads us to believe he should be in for 30 plus minutes tonight no matter how this game goes. Flynn has been one of the best plays on the slate two games in a row and that can be the case tonight as he remains cheap.
The guard position is not great on the slate, specifically the SG as we can pick Flynn at PG. However, we are happy getting to another Raptor in Gary Trent JR. There is no doubt that Trent is going to see a massive role for Toronto moving forward and we have seen him have some nice games. Trent is priced at $6,200 tonight which has some risk but a lot of upside. Trent has played over 30 minutes in each of his past four games and has taken double digit shot attempts in every contest since he joined the Raptors. Trent has hit the 40 FPT mark in two of his last three games and he has so much upside tonight. With all the injuries for Toronto, we are confident Trent will have a big opportunity tonight.
It is hard to pass up Deandre Bembry tonight at the minimum price of $3,000. Bembry is another Raptors player who we saw have a massive boost last game with VanVleet joining Lowry on the sideline. Bembry played 30 minutes last game and he went for over 35 FPTS. We may not see that level of production, but we expect him to play similar minutes and once again take around 10 shots. Bembry is way too cheap if he is going to start at point guard for Toronto like he did last game, and it is hard to see him really hurting your lineup.
Naturally, we have a lot of salary to play around with when we target guys like Flynn and Bembry. Our favorite stud to go after on tonight’s slate is Giannis Antetokounmpo. We probably don’t have to tell you why Antetokounmpo is one of the best spend up options, as he has been consistently for a few seasons now. Antetokounmpo is the best per minute producer in NBA DFS and he consistently hits some of the best upside in the league. Antetokounmpo went for well over 70 FPTS last game and he is one of the only players in the league who can do that casually. With a phenomenal matchup against Golden State, we are happy with Antetokounmpo as our most expensive play tonight at $10.700.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• A cheap big man with monster upside.
• More priority plays from the Toronto Raptor’s.
• Get 7-days for free and all-access for all sports for $99 per year after
Pascal Siakam – PF (8,200 DK) Here we are back to the Raptors. With VanVleet and Lowry out it is hard to get away from Siakam as he is the clear option for Toronto with those two off the floor. Siakam should be all over this game as we expect the extra usage to start with Siakam. The Raptors have a solid matchup against the gutted Lakers squad and his upside is some of the best on the slate with the role he should see tonight.
Jaxson Hayes – C ($4,100 DK) Hayes is an interesting play for tonight. Steven Adams took a blow to the head last game and left early in concussion protocol. We saw Hayes get a minute’s boost in the second half without Adams and was able to go for 27,25 FPTS. It seems likely Adams will not be playing tonight which would make Hayes a smash play. That is speculation so keep an eye on the Adams news, but Hayes should definitely start if he is out, and we expect he smashes value if that is the case. This is a simple one, smash Hayes if Adams is out, look elsewhere if he ends up playing.
Dennis Schroeder – G ($6.900 DK) We are rostering a lot of Toronto guys today because of the usage they should be getting for there salaries. Therefore, we want to get something from the Lakers as for this game to stay close we will see some solid performances on both sides. Schroeder has showed massive upside with the two main Lakers guys out. In his last six outings. Schroeder has scored over 40 FPTS in four of them. He should continue to be a main option for the Lakers tonight and he will have a great opportunity against a bad Toronto defense. Schroeder has great upside, and he has not had many bad games lately.
OG Anunoby – F ($7,000 DK) So if you are playing tournaments tonight I would probably refrain from playing five Toronto guys. However, we wanted to highlight all five of these guys as they all look like phenomenal plays individually. Furthermore, if you are playing Cash games do not worry about any limit from one team. Anunoby is pretty much the same story as the rest of the guys tonight, he should take marginally more shots then usual without Lowry and VanVleet. Anunoby has massive upside as he can hit any of the five base stats. This price is too cheap for the role we expect him to play with both the star guards sidelined.
Here’s a studs and duds lineup For DFS Basketball 4/6/21 (using FanDuel Values)
Point Guard | M. Flynn | $6,100
Point Guard | D. Schroeder | $7,600
Shooting Guard | G. Trent | $6,400
Shooting Guard | D. Bembry | $3,700
Small Forward | O. Anunoby | $8,000
Small Forward | N. Little | $3,700
Power Forward | G. Antetokounmpo | $11,200
Power Forward | P. Siakam | $8,700
Center | C. Boucher | $5,600 |
Nassir Little – SF (3,700 FD) Little had been sidelined with a thumb injury for a little while. However, Little came back last game and saw solid run to amass 24.6 FPTS. Little has some nice potential, and we expect he plays a few more minutes than we saw last game. His price is still near the minimum from the injury, and he should be in for another solid value performance tonight.
Chris Boucher – C ($5.600 FD) Boucher looks a lot better on FanDuel then he does on DraftKings because of the extra FPT for blocks. Boucher has showed some solid upside lately and it makes sense to expect a bit more out of him with the guards out. Boucher has great upside, and we may see his minutes rise again with the injuries for Toronto.
Good luck tonight, congratulations to everyone who had Baylor in their bracket.
