We have a six game NBA slate tonight, and as usual tons of players will be missing. Teams who have been hit by covid or other injuries like the Raptors or Timberwolves are still missing players tonight. These teams have not been adequately priced up for the extra usage and will still be our main source of value. However, most of the solid value plays are a bit more expensive today, therefore we will be playing a more midrange lineup. Our lineup focuses on midrange studs who have a lot of upside, matched with solid plays at every position.
Here’s a midrange lineup For DFS Basketball 3/14/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | K. Lowry | $8,600
Shooting Guard | K. Porter Jr. | $5,000
Small Forward | $7,400 | ||
Power Forward | $5,700 | ||
Center | E. Kanter | $6,900
Guard | $3,200 | ||
Forward | K. Martin Jr. | $4,500
Utility | $8,600 |
Kyle Lowry was mediocre last night with 41.5 FPTS, however he was on pace for a huge game. Lowry was at around 30 FPTS at half, then sat most of the second as it was a massive blowout. Lowry was crushing in his time on the floor, and he has shown us the entire Toronto offense will flow through him. Lowry has a crazy high assist rate with all the injuries for Toronto, and he is shooting the air out of the ball as well. Chicago is a great matchup for Lowry and his upside here is probably the best on the slate.
Kevin Porter Jr. has seen a significant price jump and is now $5,000. However, that does not change much as he still looks like the best play on the slate. The Rockets have a ton of injuries again tonight and Houston clearly wants to give Porter solid run. Porter has scored well over 40 FPTS in both his games as a Houston Rocket. Last game Porter shot the ball 25 times in 38 minutes. Porter’s price will settle much higher than this in a few slates, and he should be another crush play.
We have been a lot less high on Enes Kanter then the rest of the DFS community on a lot of slates lately and it has worked out quite well for us. However, Kanter is only $6,900 tonight and has one of his better matchups. Kanter scored 38.25 FPTS against the Timberwolves last game and he did not play the full game. Kanter has some great upside, and he should see more minutes to try and defend Karl Anthony-Towns. Kanter works well with our midrange build and he has showed he can have huge nights.
KJ Martin JR. is not the smash play he was last game as he has been priced up to $4,500. However, this is still too cheap for the role he plays on this injured Houston squad. Martin shot the ball 15 times in 30 minutes last game and should see a similar situation tonight. This price is a steal if Martin gets similar run here, and there is no reason to think he will get a reduced role.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• Value play based on the day’s news
• More midrange studs with monster upside
• Different options to prepare for breaking news
Norman Powell – SF (7,400 DK) Powell had a bad shooting game last night, but he was one of the only Raptors to handle the ball. Toronto will need huge games from Lowry and Powell to keep it close tonight, and they will not be willing to get blown out twice in a row. Powell has played massive minutes with great usage lately. Powell is averaging over 39 FPTS over the last ten days and should crush value with decent shooting.
Thaddeus Young – PF ($5.700 DK) Young is looking like one of the best plays on the slate and you should play him in any type of build. Young is averaging 33.5 FPTS over the last ten days and has not scored under 30 FPTS in eight games. Furthermore, it has been announced that Young is expected to start tonight. I do not know how this is possibly the price that DraftKings landed on for young, but he is a real no brainer tonight.
Thomas Satoransky – G ($3,200 DK) Satoransky is the other Bull who was announced a starter for tonight. Satoransky should see much more minutes than he has been used to and is a smash play at this price. Satoransky should hit value easily and has great upside depending on how many minutes he gets. Satoransky will probably be high owned, and we are happy saving the salary to get different somewhere else.
Zion Williamson – Util ($8,600 DK) Williamson has been a part of two massive blowouts and has seen his price fall. However, Williamson has became an absolute fantasy titan and scored 32.5 FPTS in just 18 minutes last game. If this stays close, Williamson should be back to his monster performances. Williamson has emerged as the clear number one option for New Orleans, and this is a great chance to buy him low.
Alternative Moves…
Chris Boucher – C ($7,000 DK) Boucher is questionable for tonight as he got three stitches after last game. However, he will likely play as stitches rarely keeps a player out. Boucher has seen an increased role for the Raptors with all the injuries and played 32 minutes before getting hurt last game. Boucher has shown massive upside, scoring 50 FPTS just two games ago. Boucher is a great play tonight if he is good to play.
