Wow what a slate. Somehow, we have way more value available today then we had yesterday. The Houston Rockets are our favorite team to target tonight, as they are missing most of their core players. The San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic have a lot of injuries as well and will also be great sources of value. We will be playing an aggressive stars and scrubs build tonight, as there is a ton of value plays on the slate. We genuinely have budget plays that could go off for 40 or 50 FPTS tonight, and that gives us some crazy potential with our lineups. We will be able to fit whoever we want tonight, and all of our value plays have some great upside.
Here’s a studs and duds lineup For DFS Basketball 3/12/21 (using DraftKings Values)
Point Guard | D. Murray | $7,500
Shooting Guard | K. Porter Jr | $3,200
Small Forward | $9,200 | ||
Power Forward | $3,000 | ||
Center | $10,700 | ||
Guard | $3,100 | ||
Forward | T. Harris | $8,300
Utility | K. Johnson | $4,800 |
The San Antonio Spurs are missing two of their stars tonight, which leaves a ton of opportunity or Dejounte Murray. Murray is priced at $7,500 tonight, which is fair for his typical production. However, Murray should have to take on a huge load for the Spurs tonight an should be in line for a big game. Murray will be the clear number one option on the floor tonight and has much better upside then usual. Murray has showed some monster performances this season and will be a must if he does anything will all the extra usage.
Kevin Porter Jr. is probably going to be 100 percent owned in every contest tonight and we highly suggest not breaking the mold. The Houston Rockets are missing all three of there stars as well as most of there key role players tonight. Porter is coming off a 42.3 FPT performance and is still only $3,200. It is hard to fathom Porter actually having a bad game at this price, as he should take on a massive role tonight. Porter played 30 minutes last game and Houston have much more injuries tonight. Play Kevin Porter Jr. and get creative elsewhere.
Tobias Harris was disappointing as the only star for the 76ers last game, as he only scored 33.8 FPTS. However, Harris was benched due to a blowout win and would have probably hit value had he played the whole game. Harris also shot terribly last game and has an even better matchup tonight against the Wizards. Harris will probably be under owned and we can easily pay the $8,300 to roster him. Harris has some nice upside tonight and he fits easily into any build.
The Spurs are missing their star forwards tonight, and the floor is open for Keldon Johnson. Johnson is only $4,800 tonight as he has not seen great run the last few slates. However, one has to imagine the Spurs will use Johnson a lot tonight as they are so low on forwards. It does not make sense to play other forwards over Johnson as he is better and a sophomore player. Johnson is a pretty high usage guy and has some crazy upside at this surprisingly low price.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• Our favorite studs to spend all the extra salary on tonight.
• More value plays from our key target’s
• Different options to prepare for breaking news.
Jimmy Butler– SF (9,200 DK) Butler has been dominant, and it is surprising he has not been priced up more. Butler scored 62.5 FPTS last game and has scored over 50 FPTS in each of the last four games. Butler has as good upside as anyone and comes at a discount compared to other superstars. Bam Adebayo will be sidelined again tonight which works great for Butler from a DFS perspective. The Heat have a great matchup with the Bulls and Butler is lined up for another big night.
KJ Martin Jr. – PF ($3.000 DK) Martin Jr was great yesterday in his first game back from the G-league. Martin scored 29.75 FPTS in 32 minutes. Tonight, Martin should play similar or more minutes with all the Houston injuries and remains at the minimum price. Martin should easily crush value in this spot, and he creates so much extra salary to play around with. Martin is another core play for us tonight as it is hard to imagine him disappointing in this spot.
Joel Embiid – C ($10,700 DK) Embiid is probable today and should be good to play. Embiid was out for contract tracing so we are not worried he has limited minutes nursing an injury. Embiid is the front runner for MVP right now and it really shows in DFS. Averaging over 63 FPTS across the last ten days, Embiid is fresh off a 75.8 FPT performance. Washington has been giving Sacramento a run for there money as the best matchup in the league lately, and Embiid is not one to turn down a chance to feast on a measly frontcourt.
Chasson Randle – G ($3,100 DK) If you have never heard of Chasson Randle that is ok, that is what you have me for. The Orlando Magic will be almost as gutted as the Rockets tonight, and Randle should be much more productive then usual. Randle scored 24 FPTS last game and should be in for more tonight. These are not normal scores to expect from minimum price guys, but it is what you will need to cash tonight.
Alternative Moves…
Kelly Olynyk– PF/C ($5,700 DK) Olynyk was an alternative move for us last slate and he went on to score almost 40 FPTS. Olynyk is still not priced for his role as the primary big man and can easily have another monster game against the Bulls. Olynyk would be a core play on other slates but is more of a contrarian play with all the value tonight.
Nikola Jokic– C ($10,900 DK) There is not any special circumstances making Jokic a great play tonight, but he fits great into a lineup like ours. You can easily find the value to pay up for Jokic and he is averaging almost 60 FPTS a game. Jokic projects to be a top performer tonight which may be all that matters with all the value available.
Keep an eye on the news as who knows what else will break. Starting lineups should tell us a lot of where the minutes are going tonight.
