Double overtime is such a fun way to end a race no matter the track. It was amplified last Saturday night at the Xfinity Series drivers duked it out on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course after 56 laps couldn’t decide a winner. In what turned out to be a historic race, Ty Gibbs had his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut Saturday night as the 18-year-old and won. I repeat, who in his first race, you cannot make that kind of stuff up. Gibbs was able to hold off reigning series champion and weekly favorite Austin Cindric. Heading into Homestead-Miami where there were two races in 2020, only one of the reigning champions will race Saturday night. Last year’s winners were Harrison Burton and Chase Briscoe.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on 02/27/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1  $ 9,600
Driver #2  $ 9,300
Driver #3  $ 8,700
Driver #4Michael Annett $ 8,500
Driver #5Jeb Burton $ 8,100
Driver #6Timmy Hill $ 5,500

Michael Annett: The driver of the number 1 for JR Motorsports Michael Annett finished the 2020 season ninth in points and made the playoffs. Annett is one of the more seasoned veterans in the Xfinity Series with his 297 career starts. Annett had a great race in the first of the doubleheaders at Homestead-Miami last year as he finished in sixth after starting 17th. Annett has raced at Miami four times in the last three years and has an average finish of 11th with two top 10 finishes.

Jeb Burton: Moving to Kaulig Racing to drive the number 10 Chevrolet Camaro has been a very successful move for Jeb Burton so far in 2021. As a part-time driver in 2020 Burton drove in 11 races where he quite remarkably had three top-five finishes, six top 10 finishes, and led 54 laps. That is pretty impressive for 11 races. Now to look at 2021. In two races this year Burton has turned in a fourth and fifth-place finish. He is one of two drivers with two top-five finishes the other being Austin Cindric. Burton will now start all three races in fifth place, let’s see if he can keep up the success.

Timmy Hill: I have built a pretty top-heavy lineup this week. Therefore, Timmy Hill comes in as my week’s value pick. I like the position that Timmy Hill is in to start the Contender Boats 250. Starting 33rd gives Hill a lot of point differential potential. In 2020 Hill raced at Homestead-Miami twice in the Xfinity Series where he finished 23rd and 25th. Hill has been racing in the Xfinity Series and Cup Series quite frequently over the last few years. In the 2020 season, Hill had two top 10 finishes in the Truck Series, one top-five in the Xfinity Series, and two top 10’s in the Xfinity Series.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on 02/27/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Harrison Burton $ 9,600
Driver #2Brandon Jones $ 9,300
Driver #3Riley Herbst $ 8,700
Driver #4Michael Annett $ 8,500
Driver #5Jeb Burton $ 8,100
Driver #6Timmy Hill $ 5,500

Harrison Burton: The driver of the Number 20 Joe Gibbs racing Toyota Harrison Burton had an excellent 2020 season as he contended for wins and the rookie of the year trophy. Burton, in 2020 won four races, had 15 top-five finishes, 22 top 10 finishes, and led 291 laps. Burton was dominant in 2020, to say the least. With some of Burtons competition mobbing up to the Cup Series in 2021, this year seems like it’s Burtons time to shine. There will be approximately 2,500 laps led up for grabs this year as Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe, and Ross Chastain will compete full time in the cup series. Burton was the winner of the first race of a doubleheader at Homestead-Miami last year. In three races at Miami in his Xfinity Series career, he has one win, one top-five, and has finished top 10 in all three. Ironically, he has only led two laps, but as they say, it’s not how you start it’s how you finish.

Brandon Jones: I will start by saying that I am surprised with the price of Brandon Jones this week. Jones has been pretty good on the intermediate mile and a half tracks with wins at Kansas, and Darlington. In races that Jones finished in 2020 on intermediate tracks, he had an average finish of 7.13. In those eight races on intermediate tracks, he had two wins I mentioned earlier as well as three top-five finishes and six top-ten finishes. Jones was good on the mile and a half tracks last year, to say the least. Jones had a really good race last weekend on the Daytona road course where he turned the 39th place starting position into a fourth-place finish. No reason Jones cannot win this week.

Riley Herbst: Joining the Stewart-Haas Racing team for the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series is Riley Herbst. Herbst made the playoffs in 2020 after four top-five finishes, 17 top 10 finishes and 15 laps led. In the two races at Homestead-Miami in 2020, Herbst finished in 10th and then 9th. Herbst finished 2020 with a good resume on the intermediate mile and a half tracks with a fourth-place finish at Darlington, a ninth-place finish at Kansas, a second at Kentucky, and a ninth at Las Vegas. Herbst has shown that he is at his best on the mile and a half-track.

As a bonus this week, Noah Gragson is the driver that I would pick to win this week. He dominated both races at Homestead-Miami last year. Which goes along with his $ 11,300 price tag. If you can find a way to fit him in this week, I would highly advise it. His status is also basted this week as he starts 23rd.
