Coming into the second race of the year, we stay at Daytona International, except this time we race the road course. Road racing is becoming very popular among racing fans. Road racing hosts a whole breadth of new challenges for racers. Whether it is the tight turns or that the race goes rain or shine it is exciting from start to finish. Last year’s Daytona Road Race was won by Austin Cindric as he continued his summer of dominance. With 2020 being an anomaly, there was no practice or qualifying and most drivers were completely new to the 3.61-mile, 14-turn racecourse. It was a steady mix of overly ambitious restarts or simply missing corners as they navigated this new experience. There was plenty of action from green to checkered flags.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Super Start Batteries 188 at Daytona International Speedway Road Course on 02/19/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Austin Cindric $ 10,700
Driver #2
Driver #3Jeremy Clements $ 8,400
Driver #4
Driver #5Myatt Snider $ 7,800
Driver #6

Brandon Jones: This is going to be a very popular pick this weekend with Brandon Jones starting in the very back of the pack. In this race, last year Jones finished second while leading two laps. 2020 was a pretty good year for Jones as he had three wins, 10 top-five finishes, 19 top 10 finishes, and led 160 laps. Jones’ three wins were at Phoenix, Kansas, and Darlington. By starting in last place and the talent that Jones has, I think Jones will be able to put together a very good day at this racecourse. Look for a lot of point differential points.

Jeremy Clements: Driving the Number 51 Chevrolet Camaro for JC Racing, Jeremy Clements finished the 2020 Daytona Road Race sixth after starting the race 18th. In the 2020 season, Clements finished with one top-five finish, five top 10 finishes, and led 12 laps. Clements got his first and only career Xfinity win in 2017 at Elkhart Lake. At comparable road races, Clements has an 11th and 14th place finish at Watkins Glen, and has an average finish of 15th at the Charlotte Roval road course. Clements this weekend has a chance to climb the field after starting in the 18th spot this Saturday.

Myatt Snider: After finishing 10th in last year’s Daytona Road Race, Myatt Snider is looking to continue his great start to the year after finishing seventh in last week’s race on Daytona’s Superspeedway. In 2020 Snider had two top-five finishes, six top 10 finishes, and led 32 laps. Snider is a driver that could make up some of the wins and top-five finishes that have moved up to the cup series this year. Driving this year with superior Richard Childress Racing equipment Snider should be a contender this weekend.

Below is a lineup that we believe can provide the best value for the Super Start Batteries 188 at Daytona International Speedway Road Course on 02/19/2021 (DraftKings Values)

Driver #1Austin Cindric $ 10,700
Driver #2Brandon Jones $ 9,000
Driver #3Jeremy Clements $ 8,400
Driver #4Ryan Sieg $ 7,900
Driver #5Myatt Snider $ 7,800
Driver #6Timmy Hill $ 5,200

Austin Cindric: As the favorite to win this race, I believe that Austin Cindric is a must-have in your lineups this week. I know some people do not like to spend top dollars on drivers but I think that Cindric is lined up to win this race. Cindric has a lot going for him this week. Not only did Cindric win last week’s season opener, but he also won last year’s race on this road course. Cindric led 21 of 52 laps in last year’s race while leading the first 16 and last seven. In 2020, Cindric was dominant with six wins, 19 top-five finishes, 26 top 10 finishes, and led 947 laps. He is looking to keep his success rolling by securing his second win of the year. Look for Cindric to lead a lot of laps in this race.

Ryan Sieg: After being to the playoffs in three of the last five seasons Ryan Sieg has partnered with Richard Childress’s engine division to improve his racecar. Sieg had a career-best seven top-five finishes last season, including a runner-up finish in the October race at Talladega Superspeedway. His best average finish was 14.6 in 2019, with a best championship finish of ninth place in 2016.

Timmy Hill: I am going expensive with my two top picks this week which means I need to dig deep for some value/sleeper drivers. I like the position that Timmy Hill is in to start the Super Start Batteries 188. Starting 17th gives Hill a lot of point differential potential. In 2020 Hill was not a part of the Daytona Road Course race, however, Hill has been racing in the Xfinity Series and Cup Series quite frequently over the last few years. Hill also will race in the Truck race Friday night which will give him a good feel for the track and the track conditions. In the 2020 season, Hill had two top 10 finishes in the Truck Series, one top-five in the Xfinity Series, and two top 10’s in the Xfinity Series.
