Only four games on tonight’s slate, with a surprising number of great options. There are multiple ideal teams to target tonight and you can build your lineup different ways. I will be going Stars and Scrubs tonight, to capitalize on the value available on this slate. The Lakers are my favorite team to target tonight in the absence of Anthony Davis.
Here’s a superstar-oriented lineup For DFS Basketball 1/28/21 (using DraftKings Values)
PG C. Paul $8,000 (DK)
SG __________ $8,100 (DK)
SF L. James $10,400 (DK)
PF __________ $3,000 (DK)
C M. Gasol $3,300 (DK)
G __________ $7,000 (DK)
F __________ $5,300 (DK)
Util J. Wiseman $4,900 (DK)
Chris Paul has been a core play for his last two outings and has delivered. In two games without Devin Booker, Paul is averaging over 50 FPTS. Paul has seen his price rise to $8,000, which I will still pay happily. Paul has played at least 35 minutes in each of his last three games and has played over 30 in each of his last 10. In two games without booker, Paul has shot the ball 41 times and his assist rate has skyrocketed. Paul is in position for another big night and is once again a core play.
Anthony Davis has been listed as out, which will open a lot of usage for the Lakers. Lebron Jamesis my favorite spend up option today considering the massive usage role he should receive. James has been having massive games recently, scoring over 75 FPTS this Monday. $10,400 is a fine pine price to play for James in this spot. Tonight, James is in the perfect position for another monster game against a weak Detroit defense.
In order to play the exciting stars on the slate, we will need to find strong value plays. Marc Gasol is in a great spot tonight as he should get a nice usage and minutes boost. Gasol does not have massive upside, but at this price he should be able to hit value easily as the only starting big on the Lakers.
James Wiseman has a very appealing price tag tonight at $4,900. Wiseman scored 36 FPTS last game and played 24 minutes. Wiseman is likely to get the start tonight and should continue to play big minutes. For a cheaper play that allows you to pay up in other spots, Wiseman has huge upside tonight.
Now what do you get if you sign up now?
• Two guards with the potential to break the slate
• A starter at the minimum price
• Different plays to take down GPP’s
Victor Oladipo – SG ($8,100 DK) Oladipo was disappointing last game, which will likely lower his ownership tonight. Oladipo played 37 minutes and shot the ball 21 times last game. If he shoots the ball a little bit better today, he is in store for a massive game in this spot. Portland is not known for there defense and Oladipo is not priced for his role.
Markieff Morris – PF ($3,000 DK) Don’t be turned off my Morris’s typical production. Morris is likely to get the start tonight which makes him one of the best plays on the slate at $3,000. Morris is bound to see big minutes for the Lakers tonight and allows you to pay up for superstars.
Reggie Jackson – G ($7,000 DK) This tag looks very ugly for Jackson tonight, as we are used to seeing him closer to $4,000. However, Jackson has emerged as the first option for a gutted Clippers squad. Jackson played 39 minutes last game and shot the ball 16 times. If he gets the same role tonight, he is drastically underpriced at this spot.
Cameron Johnson – F ($5,300 DK) Johnson played 32 minutes in the starting spot last game. In the absence of Devin Booker, there will be plenty of usage going around on the Suns. Johnson will have a great matchup tonight against the Warriors, who lead the league in pace. Johnson has a big game in store and caps off my core lineup.
Alternative Moves…
Tyler Herro – G ($7,400 DK) Herro is currently listed as questionable which will be key to this slate. If Herro plays, he is one of the strongest players on the slate. If He sits any other Miami rotation player is in play. Bam Adebayo and Kendrick Nunn become core plays if Herro sits.
Make Sure to keep an eye on the Herro news and good luck everybody.
