A relatively quiet day precedes a storm of hockey. Fourteen matches will be played out with only three teams in the entire league not playing. We will be going straight to a couple mismatches that we would like to profit from. As the standings start to become a little clearer we are going to start putting teams into different tiers to help guide your decision making. For example we are putting the Senators on our do not draft list. There is talent on the team but as a whole the risk is quite high for a squad that has a lot of learning to do.

Today focus on the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Carolina Hurricanes and the Maple Leafs versus the Edmonton Oilers. We will be putting together a couple stacks from those squads that should do some heavy damage. Our alternates list will be some higher risk but higher reward players as well as a couple cheap swings you can take to maximize your earnings.

Here’s an Blue Lineup For DFS Hockey 1/28/21 (using DraftKings Values)

         C       A. Matthews                         $8,400 (DK)

         C       __________                            $4,800 (DK)

         W      M. Marner                            $7,300 (DK)

         W      __________                            $4,300 (DK)

         W      __________                            $3,500 (DK)

         D       __________                            $5,300 (DK)

         D       __________                            $4,500 (DK)

         G       A. Vasilevski                       $8,400 (DK)

         U       __________                            $3,300 (DK)

Andrei Vasilevski will be the centerpiece of our lineup today. Getting a shutout will be difficult against a potent Hurricanes offense but Tampa has come out of the gate with guns blazing. The extra time to rest due to postponement of the last game probably helps the Lightning a little more and so we want to put him front and center.

Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner are one of the deadliest combos in the league. They shoot and they score. They pass and get assists. This against a weak Oilers defense is just asking for high shot totals at the bare minimum. Plug these two in and let them fly.

We have to go a little light today as the past couple days we have been giving away all the goods. There is a ton more awesome content available if you want to try a free month. We have been consistently hitting our deep targets and offer a great format that allows you to take on the risk that makes sense for you.

Now what do you get if you sign up for $99 now?
• Three more stacks of players that if they go off will go off together.

• Some low key picks from other matchups we like.
• Access to a ton of other DFS sports with the best analysts in town.

Anthony Cirelli – C ($4,800 DK) is a player still chasing his breakout season. He has a nice spot right now as the second line center for the Lightning and has quietly racked up four points on the year so far. For under five grand and paired with our next winger we think we have a great depth stack for you.

Alex Killorn – W ($4,300 DK) is Cirelli’s sidekick right now and does a good job of getting shots on net. This stack is a solid complement to Marner and Matthews and Killorn offers a high chance of at least getting into double digit points.

Blake Coleman – W ($3,500 DK) is a do everything player. One of the hardest workers every single shift he will surprise you with spectacular plays while grinding for every inch. A point per game player for under four grand? Sign us up. Put Yanni Gourde – U ($3,3300 DK) in there for good measure and there is great group of Tampa players for not much coin.

Morgan Rielly – D ($5,300 DK). Our last duo is two guys on Toronto’s blueline.

Jake Muzzin – U ($4,500 DK) and Reilly are very active defensemen when it comes to getting into offense. Reilly offers better scoring chances while Muzzin has the higher peripheral floor. Between the two of them and a few power plays we think they will be sending the Oilers packing.

Alternative Moves…

• Alexander Barkov – C ($6,700 DK) is coming back into form and he does not even have Huberdeau on his wing anymore. Verhaege and Duclair have been great additions for him as Florida hopes to get their captain engaged in the game again.
• Johnny Gaudreau – W ($6,200 DK) has been quietly trying to reproduce his 100 point pace. With over a point per game so far he faces a tough matchup in Montreal but we are getting bearish on the Canadiens hot start.

• Ivan Provorov – D ($5,200 DK) had a breakout year last year and the Flyers are looking solid. Provorov throws the body and takes his shots and has a decent matchup against New Jersey especially if Blackwood remains on IR due to Covid.

Out other key matchups will be Dallas vs Detroit and Florida vs Columbus.
