As we head into the last NFL football weekend before the Super Bowl, we take a look at building two winning lineups using DraftKings’ “Showdown Captain Mode” format. We will get you started with a few picks, keep reading for more.

Flex Rob Gronkowski ($4,400)
In this type of format, when you have star quarterbacks they need to be in your lineup. Both Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are capable of 300 yards or more and multiple touchdowns as Vegas has the over/under line set at 51.
Rob Gronkowski serves three purposes in this lineup. He is first and foremost, giving you some salary relief, he is going to give you some differentiation, and he is giving you upside. Gronkowski hasn’t put up big games for the Bucs this year, but he has been a red-zone target. If you can get a touchdown and thirty yards from Gronk, you will be in a good position.
Buffalo Bills versus Kansas City Chiefs (prices: DraftKings)

Flex Patrick Mahomes ($11,200)

Flex Josh Allen ($10,600)

Flex Le’Veon Bell ($4,000)
Much like the NFC matchup, using Patrick Mahomes ($11,200) and Josh Allen ($10,600) here is a no brainer, they are two of the best if not the best DFS quarterbacks, with how they affect the game both through the air on the ground. If the teams get into a shootout, both will have big scores on Sunday.
As a salary saver, Le’Veon Bell ($4,000) is worth consideration. He missed the last two days of practice, so he isn’t a guarantee to be in the lineup, but if he is, he has upside because the Chiefs use him in the passing game and on the ground. He is a player who could have a low-key 100 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. You could also consider him for the captain’s spot as well.
Want more kick-ass DFS picks? We got them for a one-time fee of $99 per year. All sports including NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA Tour golf, NASCAR and League of Legends. And you can try it out for a month free. We know the picks are good. You will too.
Let’s get this started with some Captain’s picks.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($7,500) is a player that is worth taking a look at in the captain spots. He scored six touchdowns on the year and had four games where he caught 80 yards or more. He has the upside and the price you’re looking for use in the Captain spot while still allowing you to get Rodgers and Brady in.
A great pick this week is Ronald Jones ($8,100). Jones has had some productive games for the Bucs this year, and he is priced down a bit, which is great for your captain spot. Tampa Bay will make some effort to run the ball, and if they get ahead, they should go to the ground quite a bit, all of which will lead to Jones having a big day.
The price of Cole Beasley ($7,500) is one that I really like, which makes him a nice choice for the Captain spot. Beasley was a primary target for Allen all year, catching 87 passes, and finishing the year just under 1000 yards. He is going to get touches this weekend, and if he can find himself in the endzone, he will be a difference-maker.
For the Chiefs, Mecole Hardman ($7,200) is the player I look to for upside from the Captain spot. Hardman is a big play guy, when he gets the ball he is a threat to gain big yards and a touchdown. He comes with some risk, as you would expect from his price, but with that comes the upside you will need to win.
Filling out the Rest of Your Lineup
Mike Evans ($9,000) does two things consistently, rack up yards and score touchdowns. If you like the Tampa Bay to win this game, you will want to have some share of Evans, when he plays it is often a big performance.
As Rodgers favorite target, Davante Adams ($11,600) is a player that should be considered. His ability to deliver big plays and have big games is undeniable. The problem today is the price. It will be very difficult to get Adams, and both quarterbacks in without having to take on some big risks in your lineup.
Because of his price Chris Godwin ($7,800) allows you some flexibility to get another good player into your lineup, like Aaron Jones ($9,800). He can be a hit or miss player, but if you want to win your contest you’re going to need to have that in your lineup, and if he is letting you get another play into your lineup with upside, then it is going to be completely worth it.
It would be hard to build a lineup without Travis Kelce ($11,000). Week in and week out this year, Kelce was a stud. Kelce had less than 80 yards in a game just our times, and there were only five games where he didn’t score a touchdown. The Bills struggled against the tight end position all year. Kelce needs to be in your lineup.
There is no player in DFS that has the upside of Tyreek Hill ($10,800). Few other players are capable of giving you nearly 300 yards and multiple touchdowns and for this reason, he needs to be considered, and if you’re building multiple lineups, he should be in one of them. He will likely make you or break you.
Much like Kelce, Stefon Diggs ($10,600) is a player that opposing defenses have had no answer for especially late in the season. Expect Josh Allen to look for him a lot in the passing game, and he should be a relatively safe play.
