Learn From yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The NFL season builds upon itself each week and offers up its share of highs and lows. This is on a cumulative basis but DFS gives us a fresh start each week. The key is to take everything as a learning experience while not overreacting in either direction. We are here to make hoping for tomorrow a little more palatable.
Each week we will take a look at both positive and negative situations that transpired from the week prior and what it means going forward. Let’s keep in mind that this is just the tip of the iceberg and throughout the week we will go into further detail about other players that deserve our attention for the coming slate of games. That is why you need to stick with us throughout the week.

As a preview of what you can expect. In a large week 17 slate, Tampa Bay exposed a soft Atlanta pass defence and put up 44 points along the way. Tom Brady threw for 399 yards and four touchdowns. We saw Antonio Brown have a huge day(as predicted on this site earlier in the week), with eleven receptions for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Chris Godwin also caught five passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns as well. Additionally, we saw Ronald Jones rush for 78 yards and a touchdown as well. For the Falcons, Brain Hill rushed for 94 yards, and catch three balls for another 42 yards. We saw the Giants and the Cowboys play a sloppy game yesterday. For the Cowboys, the only player of note was Dalton Schultz, who caught seven passes for 70 yards. On the Giants’ side, Sterling Shepard caught eight passes for 112 yards and a touchdown as well.
In Foxborough, the Patriots had little trouble getting past the Jets. Cam Newton threw for 242 yards, and three touchdowns, and rushed for 79 yards as well. Newton also caught a 19-yard pass for a touchdown also. Sony Michel had a nice day for the Patriots also, rushing for 76 yards, and catching three passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. For the Jets, Chris Herndon had the only performance of note with seven receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown.
As expected the Vikings had no issues scoring against the Lions. Kirk Cousins threw for 405 yards, and three touchdowns and Justin Jefferson caught nine passes for 133 yards. We also saw a nice day from Alexander Mattison who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown. For the Lions’ we saw a big day from Marvin Jones, who caught eight passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns. We also saw Adrian Peterson rush for 63 yards and a touchdown as well.
The Browns are back into the playoffs for the first time since 2002 with a 24-22 win against the Steelers. Nick Chubb led the way with 108 yards and a touchdown. Baker Mayfield also threw for 196 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 44 more. For the Steelers, we saw Mason Rudolphthrow for 315 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Chase Claypool also caught five passes for 101 yards and a touchdown as well.
J.K. Dobbins ran all over the Bengals, to the tune of 160 yards and two touchdowns. Lamar Jackson also threw for 113 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another 97 yards. Gus Edwardsalso contributed 60 rushing yards and caught a pass for 10 more yards. The only performance of note from the Bengals was Trayveon Williams, who had 74 rushing yards on just four attempts.
With the Bills taking on the Dolphins, we saw Josh Allen put up decent numbers in limited times as the Bills blew out the Dolphins. Allen threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns but only ran for three yards. Antonio Williams rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns, and Gabriel Davis caught two passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. For the Dolphins, Tua Tagogailoa threw for 361 yards but had three interceptions, and DeVante Parker caught seven passes for 117 yards.
The Seahawks went into San Francisco and won a close one against the 49ers, 26-23. Tyler Locketthad the only notable performance for the Seahawks turning twelve receptions into 90 yards and two touchdowns. Jeff Wilson for the 49ers had 76 rushing yards and a touchdown as the sole standout for San Francisco.
The Colts didn’t need much more than Jonathan Taylor to take care of the Jaguars on Sunday. Taylor had 253 yards rushing and three touchdowns. For the Jaguars we saw another decent day from Laviska Shenault Jr. who caught six passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
The Titans beat the Texans on the back of big performances from Derrick Henry (I predicted he would break the 2000 yard mark right here) and A.J. Brown. Henry had 250 yards rushing, and two touchdowns, and Brown had ten receptions for 151 yards, and a touchdown For the Texans, we saw another big game from Deshaun Watson, throwing for 365 yards and three touchdowns, and rushing for another 12 yards. David Johnson rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown, and caught three passes for 36 yards and not to be outdone, Brandin Cooks had eleven receptions for 166 yards and two touchdowns. .
The Raiders saw another big performance from Darren Waller who caught nine passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. We also saw Josh Jacobs, rush for 89 yards and two scores himself. On the Broncos side of thing, Drew Lock threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns, Melvin Gordon rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown, and we saw Jerry Jeudy turn five receptions into 140 yards and a touchdown as well.
The Charger were able to beat a Cheifs team that was resting most of its key players. Justin Herberthad another good day putting up 302 passing yards, and three touchdowns, he also rushed for nine yards and a touchdown aswell. Mike Williams was his primary target, catching six passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. We also saw Justin Jackson rush for 72 yards for the Chargers. Darwin Thompson was the only noteworthy contributor for the Chiefs, rushing for 45 yards and a touchdown, and also seven passes for 65 yards and another touchdown.
The Packers went into Chicago and clinched the #1 seed in the NFC, beating the Bears 35-16. Aaron Rodgers was able to throw four touchdown passes and 240 yards, Aaron Jones rushed for 42 yards, and caught four passes for 43 yards, while scoring two touchdowns on the day. Marquez Valdez-Scandling made the most out of two receptions amassing 87 yards and a touchdown for the Packers as well. For the Bears, David Montgomery had another strong performance rushing for 69 yards, catching nine passes for 63 yards and scoring a touchdown. Darnell Mooney also caught eleven passes for 93 yards for the Bears in the loss.
In a snoozefest, the Rams beat the Cardinals 18-7. Neither team really had any performances to note, but if I had to name one(and I do), John Wolford threw for 253 yards, and he rushed for 56 yards starting for the Rams inplace of Jared Goff.
In the last game of the recap, we had the Saints roll over the Panthers 33-7. Ty Montgomery had 107 yards rushing, and Emmanuel Sanders caught nine passes for 63 yards and a touchdown for the Saints. For the Panthers, Curtis Samuel caught seven passes for 117 yards, and D.J. Moore caught five passes for 101 yards. As many of the player you would of expected big performances from either didn’t play or saw limited action.
