That was quite a performance from the Stewart-Haas Number 98 Chase Briscoe at the Alsco 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Alsco 300 was Briscoe’s eighth win of the season, which ties him for the most wins through 27 races in Xfinity Series history. The Alsco 300 was a career best performance for Chase Briscoe who led a dominating 164 of 200 laps, in which he swept both stage victories and took the checkered flag in the first race of the playoffs. Chase Briscoe has been dynamite this year, and the Alsco 300 followed how he has raced a good portion of the year; out front. Chase Briscoe beat second place finisher Noah Gragson’s number nine JR Motorsports Chevy by 1.37 seconds. Briscoe was also able to hold off and take the win after a fast and furious restart with 10 laps to go. Check out the highlights from the Alsco 300 here. The win gave Briscoe an automatic bid into the next round of the playoffs. Going into Talladega and the Charlotte Roval over the next two weeks look for Chase Briscoe to race for the win as he has clinched his spot in the next round.
Going into Talladega race weekend my free pick is going to be Garrett Smithley ($5,400 DK). Smithley has raced at Talladega four times in his career, in his four races he has an average finish of 13.75. Impressively he has an average start of 32.8. A plus 19.08 place differential is impressive to say the least. Smithley might not be in contention to win this week but if he can keep up with his current pace at Talladega, he could be a steal at his current price on DraftKings.

DFS Potential Dominators
Justin Haley: At Talladega the last two years Justin Haley ($9,600 DK) has an average finish of fourth place in his two races. Haley is the reigning champion having won at Talladega back in June this year. Haley starts Saturday in the eighth spot which offers place differential appeal to go along with the fact that he has a chance to race for the win. Haley has been fast on Superspeedways of late. At Daytona since 2017, Haley has also been impressive. In five races Haley has three top 10 finishes, two top five finishes, and a win. Put the two tracks together and that is two wins in seven races. Haley does not have many laps led at each racetrack, 16 at Talladega and 17 at Daytona. However, when it matters, he has been able to finish strong.
Chase Briscoe: This pick was simple, Chase Briscoe ($10,400 DK) has been dominant this year. He leads the pack with eight wins, 15 top five’s, and 19 top 10 finishes this year. In 27 races this year if you had Briscoe in your lineup you were almost guaranteed a top 10 finish. Briscoe has the third most laps led this year in the Xfinity series with 702. Having clinched his spot into the next round of the playoffs, Chase does not have to worry about getting playoff points and can just go out and race for the win. Look for Chase to be aggressive in his pursuit for a three-peat having won at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last week and Bristol Motor Speedway the week before.
DFS Place Differential Options
AJ Allmendinger: Starting in the 35 spot at Talladega this weekend is AJ Allmendinger ($12,000 DK). Now I know what you are saying, why would you insert a guy who is starting 35th or even why would you start someone with a $12,000 price tag. Well Allmendinger started 34th in his last race at Talladega in the Xfinity series and raced his way to a seventh-place finish. Allmendinger also races with the cup series drivers and has been successful with the best in the world at Superspeedways Daytona and Talladega. In eight races in the cup series he has two top five finishes and five top 10 finishes. I really like Allmendinger if you can afford him in your lineup this week.
Vinny Miller: In his two races at superspeedways this year Vinny Miller ($6,200 DK) has started 25th and finished 14th at Daytona and started 28th and finished 21st at Talladega. If you look at those two races that is a place differential of plus 14 and plus seven. Miller has shown that he can move up spots on the track when he races on superspeedways. Throughout Miller’s career he has averaged a better finish then start in each year he has raced.
DFS to Avoid
Daniel Hemric: It has been a rough stretch for Daniel Hemric ($9,000 DK) recently at Talladega. After having the pole at Talladega in 2018, Hemric ended up finishing in the 23rd spot, however he did lead 39 laps. Hemric also had the pole at Daytona in 2018 where he started first and ended up finishing 26th. Hemric has shown that he can be fast in qualifying at superspeedways, however, they have not been favorable to him come race day. Hemric starts fifth for the Ag-Pro 300 and I worry that he will slip down the track as the race goes on.
