We have a nine-game main slate on Saturday with the first pitch at 7:05 pm EST. We should have another fun day, with Fernando Tatis Jr. and the San Diego Padres, going head to head with Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

We shouldn’t have any weather issues tonight which is great news with it already being a short slate.

Here’s our 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 4/2/21 (using DraftKings Values)

PitcherGerrit Cole $10,400
Pitcher
CatcherJorge Alfaro $2,500
First BaseJesus Aguilar $3,400
Second Base
Third Base
Short StopGleyber Torres $4,500
Outfield 1Franmil Reyes $4,600
Outfield 2
Outfield 3

Salary Remaining          $0

Gerritt Cole ($10,400)

Cole has struck out no less than eight batters in his first three starts, and one of those was a 13 strikeout performance. He is an elite strikeout pitcher, and with the Rays going with an opener today, the Yankees should score enough runs to get him the win.

Jorge Alfaro ($2,500)

With hits in five of his last six games, it’s hard to not like Alfaro at this price. While hitting in San Francisco isn’t ideal, the Marlins still scored seven runs yesterday, and Alfaro had a double and three RBI. You don’t need a lot for him to hit and exceed value.

Jesus Aguilar ($3,400)

For his career, Aguilar has a 0.470 slugging percentage against left-handed pitching, and his number last year was closer to 0.600. He is worth a look going against an average lefty in Alex Wood who is starting his first game of the year today, and he didn’t look good when he did pitch last year.

Gleyber Torres ($4,500)

Torres has hits in three of his last five games, and while that alone won’t justify his price tag, few shortstops have the power potential that Torres has, and he will be hitting third in a very potent Yankees lineup today.

Franmil Reyes ($4,600)

Speaking of power, that is Franmil. He has four home runs on the year and heading into one of the most home-run friendly ballparks in Cincinnati today, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he hit you more than one home run.

Here’s our full 50-50 MLB DFS lineup for 4/1/21 (using DraftKings Values)

PitcherGerritt Cole $10,400
PitcherJohn Means $8,000
CatcherJorge Alfaro $2,500
First BaseJesus Aguilar $3,400
Second BaseJazz Chilholm Jr. $3,800
Third Base Eduardo Escobar $3,900
Short StopGleyber Torres $4,500
Outfield 1Franmil Reyes $4,600
Outfield 2Clint Frazier $3,300
Outfield 3Aaron Judge $5,600

Salary Remaining          $0

John Means ($8,000)

We are going to go back to well today with an Orioles pitcher against the Rangers with MeansMeans is a safer bet to get you the win as he can give you seven innings and still brings you some strikeout upside, going against a Rangers team that is striking out nearly 30% of the time. We will take the discount here to get some premium bats into our lineup.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. ($3,800)

Jazz comes into today having three multi-hit games in this last five, which also includes two home runs and a steal. He has been among the most exciting hitters in the league through the first few weeks of the season, and you’re still getting him at a very reasonable price.

Eduardo Escobar ($3,900)

I can’t say I would have expected six home runs from Escobar at this point in the season, but it also shouldn’t be that big of a surprise, given that he hit 35 home runs in 2019. This is a good matchup going against a Nationals pitcher in Paulo Espino who has a WHIP that is near two.

Clint Frazier ($3,300)

Largely what we are buying with Frazier is the upside and a spot in the order. Frazier hits eighth in the Yankee’s lineup, which would normally be a concern, but their offence is potent enough for Frazier to still get four at-bats or more, and he is a player who is capable of giving you multiple hits, even if he hasn’t done so in the last few days.

Aaron Judge ($5,600)

At this point, you may be asking, why so many Yankees? They have the second-highest implied run total at 4.7, and they are facing a Rays team that we know is going to be using their bullpen heavily today. We only need one or two pitchers to be off today and someone like Judge is having a big day.

Alternative Moves…

Bryce Harper – OF ($5,400 DK) Harper is another premium option if you don’t want to go with Judge or you want to diversity your lineup a bit. Facing a Cardinals starter who isn’t overly intimidating, there is going to be room for Harper to have a nice day and exceed his value.

Pablo López – P ($6,200 DK) Lopez will be facing a Giants team today who is a bottom-five team in runs scored so far this season and they strike out nearly 26% of the time. He is a low-cost option if you want to pay up for bats instead of pitching, who could still provide you with 20 points or more.
